Oops. Sorry. Meant to say... um... AMERICA. GUNS. HELL YEAH.
I mean really, Benjs, so much math on a Friday afternoon. What are you thinking?

Seriously, you should know by now that the pro-murder folks can't be swayed by statistics and logic.

Sorry, if you get to call me anti-gun. Then I get to call you pro-murder. Them's the rules now.

Steady! I don't think anyone here is pro-murder; we all have different opinions on how to prevent death and prolong life, in fact.

And sorry - what can I say? Guess in spite of leaving the engineering industry, I am a nerd through and through when it comes to my affection for statistics and logic.

I open carry the greatest weapon known to humankind. Terry Tempest Willimas explains it exceeding well here:

Q: Do you look to your writing as a tool for your activism in the effort to prevent the wholesale destruction of the environment?

Williams: I do. I never will forget when I crossed the line at the Nevada Test Site in the Mojave Desert just outside Las Vegas. Before arresting me, the officer searched my body and found a pen and a notepad tucked inside my boots. "And these?" she asked. "Weapons," I replied. She quietly slipped my pant leg over my boots and let me keep them. Writing can be a powerful tool toward justice.

Your welcome! :-) Terry Tempest Williams is amazing. She totally blows me away.

Gimme your painting with a wide brush.Dont confuse gun owners with gun nuts! Not all gun owners are crazy zealots. Also don't lump hunters and rural folk with rifles with Carry handgun people.
Basically you have said you hate every law enforcement officer, military person, game wardens, border patrol, private security, etc, etc
Your love of life has to extend to those who don't share 100% your values.
I think you were talking about gun nuts!!!

Calling someone who supports responsible gun ownership a nut or douchebag isn't so far as labeling someone who's pro-choice as being pro-death. They're both far, and to me, unreasonable reaches, and whitewash all (or most, I don't know) because of the actions of a few.

I don't think gimme was really calling anybody a douchebag- just the points. That is a fine line, but I'm pretty sure he knows the diff. But what you say is a good reminder not to name call.

Gimme's hashtag kind of cracked me up because it reminded me of a friend who when she heard something she strongly disagreed with or that pissed her off she would say, "shitfuckdamnpisshell!" :))

Not so much about name-calling (I always envision the stereotypical librarian shaking a finger at the offender) but in the mindset behind it. Not necessarily or only gimme, but many are quick (no matter the issue) to do the same. Like the topic itself! Or how it was presented.
