    Oh, those kooky Muslims!

BB's good people. That's what delineates my views of and feelings for people. Not about religion or politics or ethnicity or the other typical markers.

It's about the person and their character.

All good Mickey! Sometimes I feel like I don't really practice the faith so maybe I'm also a fake Muslim!

Honest question: to be nonpracticing but a believer just how much do you need to know about the Muslim faith? Is it possible to really be Muslim if you don't know much about the dogma? I thought all that stuff was integral to the Muslim faith. I mean, if one believes in Allah and that Muhammad was his prophet, but that's it, are you considered a Muslim as far as the organized religion goes? I ask because I was thinking that if, say, someone believed in God and Jesus and happens to be from a family with a Catholic background, but didn't even know a lick about Catholicism otherwise, didn't even know about all the Saints enough to be able to say they believe in them or not, don't go to confession, didn't go to communion, doesn't give a damn about what the Pope says, etc.... I don't think that person could possibly be called a Catholic. So just curious. I guess this would be a question for an Imam or something....

I told you to ask an imam months ago lol. I'm no perfect Muslim. I just know whatever was taught to me growing up as a kid isn't what the news or media portray it as. Imam def would be your best bet. But if he starts talking about IS as being REAL Muslims, get out and run as far away from that fucker as you can. Then give a call to your man at arms dude to take him out. :D

BB you have an interesting view on things(muslim) , BTW ( Then give a call to your man at arms ) I thinbk the words your looking for is SGT at arms and in the Biker community that is a fighter/ club protecter/guy with the battle plan who normally has no fear and I've known a few of them.

    Godfather.

I saw this and the first thing I thought of was what are we teaching our kids? Remember, now a days, everyone gets a trophy!

  • Isn't this thread suppose to address concerns over our young men's attitudes towards our young women?

We've seriously digressed unless that was all there was to say about the topic.

Yes, I went off topic. Seeing this simply reminded me of the thread title and I didn't want to start a new thread. My apologies.

It hasn't been just you and no apologies necessary. The last few pages have been godfather vs. badbrains episode 28.

In title it fits very well, although not with the initial post article.

In the above article wtf? Mercy rule at 33 points? Call the game instead. To expect kids to not stay in the moment is ridiculous.
when I was a kid I played on a last place baseball team year after year. At the end of the full game there was always the line up after to shake hands. I dont recall being ridiculed because of the loss. Ever.

So the question in the title still stands.
What are we teaching our kids? They seem to get some very blurred mixed messages and then we wonder why x ,y, or z happened.

  • Fair enough.

I too struggle with over concerning ourselves with kids' feelings.

A person will never know what a good time is if they didn't have a bad time to reference it against. And good moments can never be too good if they are manufactured everywhere.
