    Hello everyone, the odd thing here is I have a daughter who is a freshman in college who has been given the talk about college life as a female. As I sat here before checking in here was about to give her a reminder of being cautious. Especially with the nearby missing girl in VA, and the girl on the same UVA campus who went missing from a Metallica concert then found in a grave some time later.

    As a single parent my only child I'm overly protective and concerned. Trust no one especially as a freshman since one is just feeling your way through college life. If you go to parties go with a roommate and LEAVE with them. Also send a text or contact a close my family where you are going when you might get back. Just so you can be checked on. NEVER EVER leave your drink alone if you do toss it even if it was a $10 drink.

    That said kids are going to stupid things in college, I did for sure. However, being a female one must have a keen self awareness about you or you will be preyed upon for any signs of weakness. It's like a jungle out there. As for this case it appears to me no charges will likely be charged unless one of the jerk culprits comes forward.....it's so hard to prove anything and these frat brothers know that far too well.

    Now I know why these grey hairs are just popping in non stop.

    As a father of two young daughters, and a youngest son it's scary what they are going to be facing. These type of stories remind me that I need to be pro-active in teaching all my kids to be responsible and aware. My eldest now is 13 and with her girlfriends they do these different "challenges" when they get together. So far these challenges are pretty safe, but I worry about the peer pressure mentality of these things. Normally my daughter is a pretty smart kid and follows her own thing generally, but I remember the peer pressure when I was a kid, and I'm sure there's more of it now. I just see these "challenges" as a lead in to drinking games soon. I have good conversations with my daughter, but we haven't yet really had any serious conversations about boys. And my younger daughter, well she's going to give me a heart attack when she's older as she's my wild child, but that's a whole other story. My son is still very young, but my hope is that he is guided well by the example I set. But, he will need to be taught the Rules of Engagement and the effects that peer pressure could have., and how peer pressure is NO EXCUSE!

    I didn't mean they shouldn't be prosecuted of course. We all know that this is a terrible crime. I was just talking about what should be done on the university's end. As i said, if the UNIVERSITY doesn't take that action, it is complicit in these kinds of crimes.

    This is why I don't have people serve me drinks at parties. I bring my own six pack and keep it in hand the whole time. Also helps that I know my alcohol limit and stop drinking. Fucking creeps, no wonder they resort to drugging chicks to get laid.

    Have legal charges been pressed? Has the university launched their own investigation? Has the student body shunned and alienated these geeks wearing their loser sweaters?

    Can Wisconsin not get their shit together to deal with this? Does Wisconsin not care enough to deal with this? Is this acceptable behaviour in Wisconsin?

    In my mind... this is cold, calculating, criminal behaviour that is very serious. From the last line of the article pasted and despite the fact that this same fraternity was previously investigated for a similar event... one is left with the impression that the Wisconsin good ole boys are passing this off as a some good, clean, fraternity fun (no charges filed).
