Good choice for charity. Even better I got in on this. Thanks, Paul!! And thanks Dave!!! Keep up the good news, Paul. Maybe throw some pics in the tubes next round. Mystery poster and pic tubes. That would be sweet!
Charity will be Mr Silvers Operation yellow ribbon ....
woah. I just got home from an amazing day with my boys and wifey at the "Jersey Shore" and it was just a splendid gift of a day. Then I see this...Paul, is this for real? I'm about to cry. Hard. Ok, change that. I'm crying. Hard
Awesome ^:)^ -- please put me on the reserve list if anyone bows out! The generosity on this board is amazing -- restores my faith in humanity a little bit =D>
Tube was badly crushed and ripped in half by USPS. Both posters pretty beat up and damaged. Hopefully the seller insured these. Already reached out and sent him an email about opening a claim with the post office.
Mystery sales are always fun so I appreciate the work that goes into this. But obviously pretty bummed out at the moment.

That's a bummer! :(
I haven't seen my tube yet, I'm down I-65 in Indy.
But I question if that tube was even worth a $100 to begin with! :-?

nothing received with the seller, or myself, will PM you dude
to answer the question without knowing 100% I would strongly doubt that $10 shipping would include insurance. The shipping was kept purposefully cheap to ensure the fun of the project wasn't lost in additional costings......
A mystery tube at $100 loses its appeal when theres an extra $30 on top for posting......then we can consider adding tracking too, and priority or fedex for example and we could quickly double the cost of the tube.
It sucks when an item is damaged like this through a blatant lack of care on the carriers, it certainly wasn't forseen. How hard can it be to handle a tube carefully?
OK, I see the comments about value of the tubes, I hadn't seen that coming either.
I guess I was naïve.
But the questions and posts have to be answered. The values were taken from Expressobeans.
The donator of these prints, isn't an active board member although he does peruse the board from time to time, but he doesn't spend every waking hour like some of us do on this site.
Therefore he took the values from the best place out there readily available that reflects a posters value. I dare say he had no idea that a couple of posters included could even still be bought in the store. I mean I can hand on heart say I haven't looked at the poster section of the goods (or anything other than the 'featured' page) for a very long time. I wouldn't have a clue what was available in there either and would as a first port of call head to expressobeans.
There is certainly no intention to 'con' anyone with this. I would strongly suggest that a guy who provides probably north of $4000 worth of prints to raise $3000 for a charity and not earn a cent would have only a good heart. We can always ask ourselves 'would I do that?'.
To conclude, anyone who feels upset about the value of the tube, please PM me - we can do this discreetly and no one is judging anyone. We can work it out. Perhaps a small refund of the difference in value can be applied where sought. The last thing I wanted in helping put this together was any negativity or slight on my reputation, or of vastly more important any misfeeling to the nominated charity. The charity is nothing but a beneficiary here and has no other input. I really wanted to make that extremely clear. As well as the fact that Gable, who made this all possible, did so in a rare attempt to do good, for no other reason as he wanted to.
Don't get me wrong I understand if people have received a tube that perhaps may only be worth $80 when factoring in the 'goods prices and availability' oversight, and will work with you to balance that where required.....but seriously lets think about that gesture Gable made here.....whereas some appear to be out by $20 maybe - he has just let go of potentially $4000. I say that to try and ensure that negativity isn't applied to this thread without proper consideration of what is being done........please direct any further negativity to myself by PM. Im a friendly guy and we can sort any issues out no problem at all.

I would agree. This was a great gesture, and I'd just like to ask that we keep this thread positive in honour of that kind gesture from Gable.
