To keep the pattern going, my wife and I both got Cornice, and mine was damaged to make things even worse. Just when I think I couldn't be more disappointed, I read this and learn that other PJ couples/families have had similar experiences. This is really wrong and I feel we were all misled. 10C got our money twice and we got only 1 unique poster ... which was clearly no accident.

I haven't participated in any of the mystery sales over the past few months.... 'Houses getting two of the same posters and/or distributing DVD posters is not going to endear the business to many people.
What would they gain by fixing it to piss people off? When they said that the tubes were all packed and sealed to maintain the randomness one has to be believe that. perhaps the tubes were packed in batches so all the IIC posters were on a shelf next to each other and orders were taken off shelves in the orders they came in? or by city?
I'd venture a majority of these double accounts are only for the purposes of double-dipping into merchandise and ticket lotteries. I don't feel bad for those people and maybe it is intentional on the part of 10c. Theoretically these would be 2 separate and unique collections so it shouldn't matter. But we know why it's an issue.
Probably ruins it for those who actually are a married couple who are big fans.

Well I've seen 21 shows and my wife has seen 19. So id say were both big fans.
That is definitely most frustrating and I can see how your excitement and enthusiasm for participating in the mystery tubes went from fun to upsetting. However, I don't think the 10c would viciously and purposely punish those that have 2 memberships. I'm guessing posters were rolled up and put in tubes and put in bins based on the show. Then they probably grabbed poster tubes from the same bins and shipped them 1-2 etc based on city or something? I don't see how it could hurt shooting a quick email to shipping@tenclub.net or a PM to SLH politely asking if there's anything that can be done as I'm guessing they are not even aware or thought this would happen. I truly don't think they would want your customer experience to be negative
I recieved Wrigley Emek Monster. I already have it. Looking to trade for Pittsburgh 2013 if anyone is interested....PM me.

Pearl jam posters and conspiracy theories. Love it. Why is it so hard for people to understand that 90% of the time you are going to get a poster that you do not like and would never buy in the the mystery sales. You are paying for the thrill of possibly getting a gem.
It's "funny" how this went from thrilling not knowing...to seeing the first mystery poster pulls with some pretty decent stuff and a few bummers...to last weekend and all the Cracker Jacks and Dirty Franks being pulled that lead to some intense anticipation...to the recent IIC dumps and conspiracy theories of multi-member sales to the same households.
Lots of ups and downs. I now regret being half-bummed Sunday after getting the 2005 Calgary poster (bummed because I had gone out of town on Friday right before I got an e-mail notifying me that UPS had delivered...all weekend to anticipate and watch the fantastic pulls...to come home and get the Calgary...a downer at the time, but now I am fuckin' ecstatic that I got that one) - and I'm going to go frame the son of a bitch soon. I was wrong to be bummed out (though I am blaming that mostly on a long "Guys Getaway Weekend")...I was wrong...I admit it...and I apologize to the 10C and Santos for my short-lived frustration...it is all good!
Good luck to the rest of you out there that have not rec'd your poster yet...

I did believe it was random, but when you see this happen to many people then the system or process wasn't completely random for whatever reason. Maybe not on purpose, but it is what happened. At first I thought it was a coincidence until I saw the posts by others. Maybe they can address it.

I agree. My wife and I got the same poster. We ordered within 30 minutes of each other. I'm sure the shipping labels are printed either by order number or zip code. Grab a tube, grab a label, and ship it out the door.
This isn't the first mystery sale, but probably at least the 4th or 5th over the years. You win some and lose some.
True, my mystery boxes I got were below average, but I scored the 96 Portugal back in '06 (I believe). Got my mystery poster yesterday, but I'm donating it as part of the raffle I'm doing on here

I agree it's been crazy! Been a lot of fun to follow this thread, even over the last couple days with the plot thickening. Haha
Glad to hear you're now pumped about your poster, that's the best case scenario in the mystery tube lottery.

I don't think they have enough time on their hands to target locations with two accounts to try and get back at flippers or people double dipping.
A lot of the crackerjacks all showed up at the same time, I think I remember seeing a lot of Chicago posters at the same time etc... So more likely than not it's more a function of the orders being placed at the same time rather than them being at the same house or mailing address.
Now if anyone from the same location placed their order hours or days (not sure when it sold out) apart and got the same poster that would be strange, but I tend to try and believe what is most likely. And it is just not that likely to me that there is enough time for anyone working at 10C to target specific accounts how many active accounts are there 300K 500K?
I still understand the frustration though, just don't think it's a malicious thing at all.

Holy crap...that's downright logical!
That is the most logical explanation. The randomness of not knowing who was getting what was sure there, but unfortunately they didn't shuffle the pre-packed tubes prior to labeling. So as they sort their orders by city or area, everyone in an area get the same thing. Makes sense.
I'm curious now to see if us Canadians get the same posters..

I don't know... I think everyone should re-post what poster they got along with the order number, order time, and what zip code it was shipped to, so we can really figure this out. ) #-o

I think there's some truth to the thought that posters seem to be grouped geographically. Likely they had a list of all orders arranged by zip code and went stack by stack through the posters. Just one data point, but I did notice that all of the 06 Boston IIs (that were posted) ended up in NY or PA.
