There was a canadian guy - from Toronto i think - who completely passed out during the show. I had to to pull him through the crowd and across the barrier. If anybody knows him or heard if he is ok I would really like to know!

if that was you helping me pull out the tall dude Randy, he is fine, just rather embarrassed. after helping haul him up and over I was about ready to pass out myself. but I confirmed he's okay. and to the girl who gave me a kiss after we got him over - thank you bella! that cheered me immeasurably :) :)

I have faced it.... the Life Wasted! it is pretty awesome the way pj fans jump into action to help when someone's in trouble.

I found this pic of the magic night in Trieste. I do hope a bootleg will be released for those of us who were there and for those who were not. Credit for the picture due to the unknown author.

Thanks for the update. I was right in the front row. I showed you he was ok (breathing, eyes opened) right after he was pulled.

Did they explain why they were playing Let Me Sleep? Seems odd as it's not Christmas time.

I didn't hear them say anything, I spent the first half of the song trying to figure it out, then I just had to laugh and enjoy it.
Playing a Christmas song at summer solstice does have a balance to it though?

IMO....Let me sleep potentially or possibly not a Christmas song....
as we all know..... songs can have a much more meaning,...or they simply can have little meaning an just be a cool song to jam to... whatever make you happy/sad/etc etc...
to me....the "Christmas time" reference can also mean just a magical time... or like "Heaven"...
So yes, it can easily be a Christmas song or not...
Either way,...its one of my favs... and sorry to get off thread topic here...
I so wish/dream to go to a show oversea's someday...
    peace, curly

Could someone remember on which song in Trieste Eddy went down to share wine on Mike's side?... And mike then went down to the crowd also, do you remember at which moment?!... Red fish memory, but would like to remember this great moment in show for me (Cause I taste the wine!)

I've now seen PJ play Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns in Italy. I can go out with a smile on my face.
We drove from Venice and every stop "Autogrill" on the way back was packed with fans, what an experience!.... Thanks Maverick.. for tempting us to go...haha

End if Sirens with Italian verse..leading into Why Go...

The day after we were exploring Venice and ran across these two young street musicians. I asked them if they knew any PJ. The one with the guitar said No, the other one said to him.. "YES YES YES ...It's like Nirvana", which gave us a huge laugh...

This was the best rock n roll concert I have ever been to, period. From the setlist to the crowd it was awesome. The moshing and the crowd surfing was great, even for a near 40 year old fan like myself. There were no assholes in the inner circle, just a lot of energy and bouncing up and down. We ended up right in between Eddy and Mike four back from the rail. The energy from the crowd fed the band. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, as I protected my lovely little woman from the pit lol.
Two highlights I must speak of in this show. The second last song of the night was Rockin in the Free World and I had been handing out some small rubber Canadian Flag Pins before the show (those of you who got one will remember ;)). So I threw one to Eddie's feet as he was singing and he had an inquisitive look on his face and picked it up, smiled and pinned it to his shirt pocket. As he sang he held it up although it was far to small to make out from the pit. Truly a magical moment for a longtime PJ fan.
The other is that we are also two other Jammers who have seen Let Me Sleep twice since 94 as we were also at the Seattle show in December. :D. The previous poster can add us to that short list!
We both want to thank the band and the crowd for making us forget about anything else for almost 3 hours and feeling like kids again. It was written all over their faces, we give them as much as they give us. Thanks Trieste for a concert I will never forget!

I have no idea what Ed said because I wasn't there, but I do know that his uncle John Vedder passed away in May, in Phoenix AZ, where I'm from. Saw it in the online Phoenix newspaper.
