If this is the Jacksonville song that was previewed in the September documentary I'm gonna be pumped.

I love it when he releases tons of music like this. It feels like 2005 again and everything has been stellar.

Loved the 1984 single/album/EP/whatever it is

To me. The Cold Roses/JCN/29 run was really special. I think where I was in my life really coincided with those albums themes. The summer shows for Cold Roses before the other two came out were incredible. I love Cold Roses especially.

Then he melted down. And while there is good stuff in between 2005 and Ashes and Fire, it wasn't on the level of the 2005 albums and before (obviously).

It seems like although he will always be odd and a little crazy he's as focused as he's ever been artistically and he has a tremendous amount of freedom to do what he wants. I think Ashes and Fire was the perfect comeback album and everything going on now is just awesome. That's a great great thing because he's a great artist.

I think Easy Tiger is better than 29 and JCN.... But I'm in the minority I believe.

    CR might be my favorite.

    I'd go

    Heartbreaker
    Love Is Hell
    JCN
    CR
    Gold
    Easy Tiger
    Ashes and Fire
    29
    Rock n Roll
    Cardinalology

If Demolition was an album, I'd put it at #4. 48 Hours would be my #1 by far

Why isn't demolition and album? I know it's made up from songs from the different sessions but I always considered it. I do like 48 hours better than Demolition though.

Cataloging his stuff can get very confusing.

I don't consider it an album because its a mish mash of rejected albums. I guess it just depends on how you look at it.

I see your point. Easy Tiger would probably fall into that too then.

Well yeah, I forgot to put Heartbreaker number 1 but I meant outside of that, lol. I usually just act like it's understood.

And I like RnR and Cardinology way more than most but then again I like his rockier stuff rather than the countryish.

He's just got so much material it's silly.

Eh. not really. While they did a few sessions in 2005/2006 and some tracks that ended up on ET were attempted, ET was recorded in one go.

so by your rationale, LOST DOGS isnt an album. :/

I don't consider Lost Dogs an album. It's a compilation. Like a greatest hits, it's made up of songs from different sessions over a long period of time.

Why I consider Demolition an album is because although yes it's a mish mash of songs that were from different album sessions those albums never got released. I know 48hours was supposed to be an actual album release that never happened. I think the version of Suicide Handbook that leaked out though wasn't the "finished" versions of those songs largely. And the rest of the songs are from the Pinkhearts sessions and I never considered those unreleased albums (at least in the way the others are).

It's really six of one half dozen of the other and doesn't really matter becaue the tunes are good anyway.

Also the title "demo"lition doesn't help my cause

Been listening to some old school DRA lately and I recommend checking out the show from 12/3/03 in Philly at the Electric Factory.

He's fucked up and they ripped it late into the night with about 27 songs or so. It kills me that I missed all these shows in my backyard when I was younger. Also, the only time he played Avalanche. Apparently the band was gone and as he was walking off stage just went up to the piano and started playing.

they added a couple of previously sold out vinyl to the new online shop, including 2 past record store day releases:

    class mythology
    pornography
    empty room/nutshell
    orion
    oblivion/people need sunlight

prices are a little high, but $40 cheaper than the only current copy of class mythology on ebay, for example.

just an fyi in case anyone needs an of those:

Shameless totally unrelated - yet related - post. Anybody have the Live After Deaf MP3s that they'd be willing to shoot my way? Would be totally appreciated. Vinyl is a bit outta my price range, and there's no way I could spend over $100 on a pile of MP3s. Just makes no sense that it wasn't released in any other ways, as this is something I'm dying to hear. PM me if you wanna dole out a favor to a total random and beef up your karma a bit. :)

    Thanks in advance...

This album is incredible. Blown away.

He's in the zone right now. Everything he's put out has been terrific this year. And there's more to come...
