Go to the 30 second mark and watch the "Modern Family" version of a kidney stone.
I SWEAR TO GOD that is EXACTLY how I reacted.
My wife and I just watched this and we haven't stopped laughing.

Hey Speedy, glad to see that's over. I've always heard how incredibly painful those things are.

I've had to make a few trips to the ER with severe migraines and one thing's for sure, pain and the ER are a miserable combination!

Hope you make a speedy recovery! (Somebody had to say it!)

  • Kidney stones... yikes. Scary to me.

    Get well soon, man.

I spent an evening in the ER two nights ago. I fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie. I crawled into the bedroom at 1:30am and the wife was lying there saying, "I was calling you" (which I obviously never heard). I took her to ER and spent 4 hours there.

In short, she has ovarian cysts and one burst.

She was in as much pain as I've ever seen someone- they are apparently brutal. She was given good doses of morphine with gravol chasers to alleviate the nausea.

She has others in there as well- she goes back next week for more work.

Thank you for the well wishes.

I hope your wife is feeling better and all turns out well.

Middle age is fun, isn't it?

    :-c
    Ain't that the truth?

What a relief you must feel right now... putting that incident behind you.

    So funny.
Im going to guess that 99% of the population thinks the pain is when you pass the stone.

Its not painfull at all. Passing the stone is the easy part.

Its when the damned thing is making the trip to your bladder that is "HOLY HELL!!!"

But yeah, my back and kidney are still a little sore, but ill live.

Hi Speedy -just now got a chance to read about your pain with kidney stones -
from what I hear - that's about as close as a man can get to the pain a woman goes thru while giving birth. Heard that from a nurse....

    Get well soon....
