He could always take the stansted express to central london and then take the train to bath......

Ha, well I won that one... cos I sent an email around as soon as I noticed the calendar missing (it was a really nice one and several people have commented on how nice it is - so there are several suspects) accusing everyone of taking it. I've just now accused everyone of taking my stapler. If the plant goes missing, I'll know who it is straight away :D

:D:D:D:D:D Popularity is not something I'm trying to achieve.

I went to the engineers office just there and said 'right, where are they?' and the engineer looked at me and said 'who?' and I told him what went missing and he said 'I don't have it but it only needs one guess' and he let me into the foremans office and there's my calendar lying on the floor underneath his OWN one hanging on the wall  and I said 'but he has one' and he said 'he just can't help it, he sees stuff and has to take them' :D and my boss had the stapler :D

I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect, was never a huge JA fan back in the day but I was pleasantly surprised. I never got to listen to it as loud as byrnzie insisted but definitely that album shows why dave navarro is/was regarded as a guitar master (shame we found out he's a fame hunger fucking dickhole :D).

First track left me a bit hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm unsure but then ocean size kicks into typical JA style......I can see navarro just sitting back watching the rest of the lads go at it and he just smashes in lead licks like a bad bitch :D

Ted just admit it, standing..., summertime rolls and mountain song are well placed and are really good tracks.

Jane says is the stand out track for me :D

Pigs in Zen is a very poor closer....lets the album down. :(

So over all, I enjoyed it but wouldn't be creamin meself over it......I give it.....

Just read this recent quote from Tom Waits:

"If a record really works at all, it should be made like a homemade doll with tinsel for hair and seashells for ears stuffed with candy and money. Or like a good woman's purse with a Swiss army knife and a snake bite kit".

    1. Nice use of the word my Irish compadre!

    2. Pigs in Zen is a C.D bonus track, not to be found on the L.P.

Conclusion: Crank that bitching record up one more time with a few stiff drinks under your belt and proceed to bounce off the walls with gusto baby!

OK guys, my attempt at reviewing this album besides saying I LUURRRVVE it!

First of all, try to remember it’s almost 20 years old (yep… I was still ‘young’ in those days). And f****ing hell… it’s just as good and relevant now! Perry Farrell voice is so unique and Dave Navarro on guitar was at his best (no MTV reality shows then!), not to mention the powerful drumming by Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery's solid bass. This album has a bit of everything, from hard rock to funk to jazz to metal and downright depravity and perverseness! Oh.. and remember… ONE LOUDER, please… and…

…prepared to be blown away by this incredible album. It is just so unpredictable!

Starts off with a good little rocky intro with ‘Up the Beach’.. leads you into..

‘Ocean Size’ and what you think will be another similar track if the acoustic intro is anything to go by. Then… one of Farrell’s screams and hell breaks loose…. insane guitar. Hard rock at it’s best.

More of that where it came from with ‘Had a Dad’, the guitar, the drums and Farrell’s vocals again.. out of this world.

Now… for the truly bizarre and perverse.. ‘Ted, Just Admit It’ … fuck!!! Very dramatic, bits of interviews, the bass, the drums… creepy… listen to the lyrics.. wild!

Back to ‘normality’ with ‘Standing in the Shower...Thinking’. Good old rock song which we all enjoy.

This is followed by ‘Summertime Rolls’. A bit the odd one out, I would say. A fun song.. but then….

Pure metal with ‘Mountain Song’… great bass opening… then the scream.. then again.. hell breaks loose… WOW!

Hoping for more of this, we get a funk piece! With brass and the lot! Cool though!

Now for ‘Jane Says’. We all know Jane Says. Gorgeous song, wonderful acoustic guitar and also some gentle steel drums…. Love it!

Big surprise follows…. a jazzy number with ‘Thank you Boys’. Unexpected and a bit daft but a good little bit!

‘Pigs in Zen’ is the last number and an amazing closer…

For the album, make an effort to listen to the lyrics....

    Wow… what a rush….. better than sex…. :D Remember guys… ONE LOUDER!

Excuuuuuuse me!!!! Dave.... I will accept your apologies....

And yeah... I hate cleaning.....
