So.... have to see science teacher this morning too.... At least I can go knowing that G. didn't do anything and that she's doing good work..... (I hope!)

OK... back from school.... You'd think Gabrielle is god's gift to the world if what her form tutor said was anything to go by!!!! She should stay at our place for a week and see how it really is!

It was all about something the school may be proposing to do in Science...fast-tracking able kids to do their GCSE in two years (ie in Y9!). It seems that from G's assessments (and attitude! - what attitude??) she would fit the bill and the teacher just wanted our thoughts on that should it go ahead. Not sure.... I'm thinking give the kid a break.. she only started secondary school in September! I'm sure G. could do it, but she is also thinking an early GCSE in music (she already plays an instrument at the grade required - the rest is easy...)... Ah... school...

Wow, well it's great that they're considering her anyway. I would tend to agree with you slightly about giving her a break but maybe she is able for it?

Oh yeah.. I'm sure she could do it.. but it would be quite a bit of work, I guess. Add to that normal homework, piano, violin, saxophone (for which she needs to practise!), ballet, stagecoach AND friends.... that just seems a lot to pile up on a kid..... In the end, it will be her choice, if they do it.

BTW - have you looked into transport from Stansted to my place (sorry we can't pick you up, but it tooooo far!). I think your best bet would be the stansted express to Tottenham Hale, then the tube to Vauxhall, then the train to Whitton! Sorry so long winded! Another option is the coach link Stansted-Heathrow and then tube/bus to Whitton. Unfortunately, it it pricey, I'm afraid! Still want to stay at my place????

All these genius children :D Obviously all gotten from the other halves of the relationships ;)

My mam was skipped 3 or 4 years ahead in school, she left school, with exams at 15....mad, no way that would happen now....shame her brains didn't pass onto me....or maybe they did and I've just destroyed them with alcohol abuse :o

Thanks chimey for the birthday wishes :D

Just listening to Ray D'Arcy on Todayfm and they are talking about duvet's and single lads. Basically women are giving out (surprise surprise) about bedsheets and duvet covers of bob the builder etc and also not washing bedclothes for 2 years....and expecting the women to get into that bed for some action.....so ladies, whats the worst bedroom you've gone home to??
    I need a coffee!

I skipped a year in secondary and passed some exams ahead of time (belgian educational system) but my dad was finished with UNIVERSITY by the age of 16. How useful... too young to get a decent job or anything... Waited for his 17th birthday, enlisted in the army and went to Japan (would have been too young to do that on is own!!!).

From Tottenham Hale to Vauxhall (Victoria Line), I would say about 20-25 minutes (10-11 stops) then the train from Vauxhaull to Whitton (Windsor & Eton line), another 20 minutes. If you do that I WILL meet you at Whitton Station (only 5 mins from my house!).

Lol, that's grand then, should be no problem :D think my plane arrives around 7.30, out of the airport by 8 and that should all take maybe 2 hours/2 and a half so I should be at yours by 10.30 anyway - see, still really early :D . Thanks a million :D . Going for lunch now anyway so I'll chat to ya after.

Shouldn't be that long. The Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale is only about 30-35mins! Why didn't you just bloody fly into Heathrow... would have made things MUCH easier!!!!!

    Have a nice lunch! :D
