I think we may need to organize a little something for that Peabody roof0
-
We need to come up with a bird call and handshake so we can identify ourselves out and about0

That's what it's all about.... Making memories !!my2hands said:Driving 1000 miles from Delaware for this one... i seem to make a road trip for this band every year and have a lot of great memories, seen a lot of great shows, and have met a lot of awesome people along the way... hopefully i have many more to come
This will be my first time in Tennessee and Memphis has to be the best city to visit on this tour, especially for music fans? Thankfully it was an easy 10c ticket, much like c-ville last year
It's funny when you tell certain people that your traveling around to see Pearl Jam and they act like your crazy, but they'll drop 3 grand to go sit on a beach somewhere.
I just think it's awesome to just pick a few random cities on the map, go see how the locals live and be able to see the greatest band on earth play a show at the end of the night. What's better than that !!!
..... and 1000 miles is definitely a giant road trip !!
(And, Memphis is a fun city, you'll like it)

Yes, this is just the 3rd PJ show in Memphis ever. Been 14 years since the last one. There have been 2 EV solo shows at The Orpheum within the past 5 years, but not the full band since 2000. Their first time playing FedExForum as well (2000 show as at the Pyramid). FedExForum is an awesome venue.alskaraoke said:Is this the third show only for Memphis? I looked up 8-15-2000 and 3-24-94 but were there any others? Hard to imagine such a dry spell. Should be great. I can't wait!

I couldn't agree more. I work in a very small rural community in Tennessee where unless you were in the military you probably haven't been more than a couple of hundred miles away home. The looks I get from people when I tell them I'm going to Seattle or Denver or NYC for a concert are priceless. I might as well be going to the moon to watch aliens play basketball.yellowwho said:

Yeah, those are good bets. 3rd and Lindsley is a nice little place. For the BlueBird, make sure and get there somewhat early as it's first come first served on seating (for the free show that usually starts around 6pm but you can also call for reservations for some shows. usually the late show will have a cover, but not always). Plus, you never know who will show up. Dave Grohl showed up and played an hour long acoustic set there 2 weeks ago. If you're into records, hit up Third Man Records (Jack White's store) and Grimey's. and like someone else pointed out, try and do the Ryman tour and if it's nice outside, a walk around Centennial ParkAir23 said:I am arranging my travel plans. Coming from Italy. I am thinking about spending two nights in Nashville (sun and mon) and two nights in Memphis (tue and wed). Would it be fine? Suggestions from locals are very welcome. I regret to miss the Grand Ole Opry since I cannot be in Nashville on Friday and Sunday, but it seems to be rather commercial, doesn't it?
I plan to have the writers' night at the Bluebird on Sunday and the Time Jumpers at the 3rd & Lindsley on Monday in Nashville: is it a good choice?0 -
I am at the Westin but now I'm thinking all the fun will be at the Peabody? There is no guarantee that you will get it for $115 through Priceline though right? Also, what is the story on the double beds there... Need something bigger... (w/ wife)...0

If you are into concert posters Hatch Show Print has a little place by The Omni across from convention center if you are downtown. I haven't been inside even though it's right by my parking spot for hockey. It looks like one of those things that might be fun to check out if you happen to be walking by but not cool enough to go out of you way to see. Not to jinx it but the weather should be awesome that time of year.ponytd said:

Just booked the Peabody through Priceline for name your own price for $115 like everyone else...that place is going to be backed with PJ fans(similar to the Pittsburgh show last year when a ton of us all got insane deals at the same hotel downtown). I will be coming in the night before the show and staying two nights. Hopefully there will be some good local shows/parties Monday night!"Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit."0

We plan to arrive in Memphis on Monday....Hope we have a fan get together on Monday night at a bar etc...0 -
I'm down with a Monday night spot. Let's pick a big place with good tunes.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

I got a room at the Holiday Inn next to the Peabody. I'm really looking forward to this.0
