After four years on tour, Gaspar said he's seen the world for the first time. He had only left the islands for a few years in the 1970s when he played funk and blues with Albert Collins.
Before that, Gaspar grew up in Waimanalo, a culturally rich beach-front community at the south end of Oahu's lush leeward shore. He was named after his father Kenneth, but everyone knew him as "Boom Boom," a nickname his parents gave him after reading a newspaper article about a child named Boom Boom, who died downtown after getting hit by a car in 1953.

"I grew up and thought that was my real name," he said. In grade school, he learned his real name after the teacher called attendance.

From the interwebby Google machine. For what that's worth.

    Peace.

So he shortened it by one Boom.

As an aside, I once met Ray Boom Boom Mancini. Nice fellow.

I had two hotdogs for supper tonight. Well, really it was one house made hotdog with sauerkraut and mustard and the other was a knack wurst with a side of kraut. Both were house made in a restaurant down the street from my house. Good eats!

    Peace.

Somewhere at home I have the recipe for Mrs. Fields cookies - complete with ground oats, shaved giant Hershey bar...makes close to a hundred cookies.

Those things were AMAZING but damned if I'm gonna more than spend a half day making them.

you could quarter the recipe and it would make 25. i cut down recipes all the time, and I've found that most cookie recipes say "makes 3 dozen" in reality, you're lucky if you get 2 dozen.

    double salt... hilarious

that reminds me of april fools day games
when i was a young lad i switched out the salt & sugar
dad gets up at 4:30am & is having morning coffee before work
    teaspoons of salt

    he was not to pleased

then there was the tacks on the toilet seat
we liked torturing one another in our house

i would imagine i got in deep shit for the salt/sugar switch & dad sitting on tacks. although i'm positive he also thought the tacks was hilarious as they punctured his cheeks. the salt sugar switch would have made him pissed moreso than toilet seat tacks

we were fun at some point but something happened & now we suck & some are dead
