  • The park was pretty muddy yesterday. Not too bad up by the stage where PJ will be playing, but walking around the park was pretty bad. Hopefully it dried up a bit over night. Also, this is the lineup poster that I mentioned before. You get it free at the ACL merch stand inside the fest when you show the retailmenot app and buy an ACL shirt. image

Wear old shoes. Was ridiculous in the middle of the park. Especially near the retail stage.

We're staying at a hotel where the staff was nice enough to give me and the fiancee a role of duct tape and a bunch of plastic trash bags to wrap around and inside our feet / legs / shoes if the mud gets to be unbearable. It was unbearable last night. We went to catch the Eminem show and could only stay approx 30 minutes that's how much of a shit-show it was. I almost fell on my ass at least 10x. And idiots were running around trying to catch both Em and Skrillex splashing up mud everywhere.

I have a feeling the closer to the stage, the less mud there'll be, though. Planning on inching up to the front right before Gaslight comes on. But even if you're super far back from the stage, ACL has huge speaker stacks that sound amazing - even hundreds of yards away from the stage.

This is true, the sound at acl is great. For most bands it actually sounds better a bit farther back.
And true SVRD, no show for me tonight! But I will be watching the Giants game in comfort!

I like the one from last week. Cool design and went with Austin colors

The black setlist writing on the "rust" color looks really good.

Not liking weekend 2's shirt at all. Another black shirt that doesn't even reference Austin on the front. Looks like weekend 1 was the one to go to if you like merch. Will stop by the pop-up shop when convenient for me but won't be sad if they are sold out.

  • I posted this on Facebook but it was suggested that I share it here as well as everyone might get a quick smile/chuckle out of it.
Last night, my daughter tugs on my shirt during even flow looking like she did in this pic. I think she's whining/crying b/c of something like she fell, sister pulled her hair, etc (normal stuff that 6 year olds cry about for 8 seconds and then are fine LOL) Anyway, she tells me I need to yell at Mike McCready b/c he "melted my eyes shut and now I can't see the concert!" https://www.facebook.com/groups/10cmembers/647983278647556/?notif_t=like

  • Hope everyone had a great time. Weather for Sunday ended up being just about perfect. Mud was there but we found it easily avoidable. Barely got any on our shoes. Were able to get about 12 rows deep in front of Mike. This was our second festival show which was kind of neat to be around people who have never seen them before. But the setlist was average. Austin is a cool city and we had a great time with everyone. Wish I was going to more shows but not this year.

Back at work today after being stuck in Houston when our connecting flight was cancelled. This blows.

Anyway, the show and week were amazing. Would have loved to hear Imagine though and will hope I hear it soon. Maybe at an EV solo show.

I flew from Austin to New Orleans Monday afternoon and went right through the storm they cancelled all the flights for. You're lucky. I've flown a lot and that's the first time I've been truly scared on an airplane. Not fun.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Had a great time in Austin. Set list was just so so week II, but am I the only one that though the sound was strange at ACL? Maybe I was too close (if that's possible), but it sounded totally off to me compared to the other recent indoor venues....

Sorry to hear. The only flight that ever really scared me was when I was traveling to the gorge in 2006.

weird.... sounded great where I was... about 10 rows in front of the soundboard....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I was right behind the second set of speakers and it sounded fantastic. Best sounding band of the weekend, which says something for their crew.
