I recently had a really long bus trip and listened to all their albums start to finish - really listened - for the first time in years. No Code is still my favorite...unfortunately the poll limited me to 10 choices!

After a short contemplation, I had to stick with what was my gut reaction. Love this song and that bridge is just genius. And the flow of in my tree to smile?? Love it! Not on your list, but I love how sometimes makes you feel all contemplative and hail, hail smacks you out of that!

I'm pretty sure it's the initial sonic blast of Hail, Hail coming out of Sometimes. I cant tell you how many times I had that turned up just a little too loud.

I just adore this entire album, start to finish - even Mankind :D

It tells a story, at least to me, of searching within and without - goes from soft questioning to defiance and anger to longing to new/continuing love to defeat to...it goes.

And then in the end with Around the Bend, such a sweet gentle caress goodnight.

A beautiful fabric, with every stitched note perfectly in place.

This is in my top 10 of all time for sure. The song has the ability to completely change my mood. The aggressiveness of how is starts, and the lyrics "I could only be as good as you let me" are what make this my choice.

    60 seconds of Lukin
I heard Lukin live before it came out on Monkey Wrench radio in Seattle and I was so blown away I couldn't wait to here it on the album. I listened to that song first for a few times then the rest of the record.

    Songs 2-9...

    Hail hail-who u are-in my tree-smile(love the guitar at the end!)-off he goes-habit-red mosquito-lukin.

That's one hell of a run and would be one hell of a setlist.

    Cool poll OP! Thanks

The opening verse in Off He Goes. That's when you realize you're halfway through the album and there's been no filler so far and you're just now listening to the most stunning song.

I didn't vote because in my opinion the defining moment of this mast work is: "Pretty cookie heart squares all around, yeah!" :-)
