I'm not gonna criticize leaving in the starter too much, but maybe once a runner or two get on base you come get the guy. I mean even in the 50s they would take starters out when they were losing it.

I honestly think Girardi hasn't been garbage. I think he's basically done the same amount as Gabe. My point being is managers are more indicative of their roster than the other way around. It's hilarious to see Phillies Twitter wishing for Gabe right now even though these were the same fucking idiots running him out of town 3 seasons ago.

Not far off. Both decent managers who were fortunate to be where they were at a certain point in their careers.

I can see it now - the same dipshit neanderthal who wanted to fight me at a Phillies game because I thought it was a good idea that Kapler had Hoskins leading off at one point is probably pining for ol' Gabe right now.

That guy wanted to fight me at a game because I was in line in front of him to get some beers and a sausage.
   .
That was back when I first moved here.
Now I know that I don't need to get out of my seat to get beers.. pretty much ever.
Get the food on the way in and the only reason to leave your seat is if you gotta take a leak.

Is the Mets collapsing from the playoff race and then "booing" their own fans the most Mets thing that's ever happened?  =)

Hard to beat the last day of 2007 with Tom Glavine getting lit up by the Marlins in the first inning while the Phillies were blowing out the Nationals and all the Mets fans leaving in the 3rd inning, but it's up there.

I think the best thing about it is when and if that happens here (some people would like lump us in with what's going on and I'm perfectly fine with that!) the Philly sports organization knows it's not even worth poking the bear and let it all play out. i.e. see Sean Rodriguez a couple years ago when he said the fans were entitled. I haven't booed a player with so much enthusiasm in years.Just every Sunday from then-on if he came up to bat it was just raining, constant boos.

Semi-related - I am not being pulled back in by this fucking team, no way no how no siree. It's fun watching Harper rake, and what was a Cy Young season for Wheeler but that's it for me. Nope not doing it anymore. Nope nope nope. Nooooooope.

You ever have a house guest, and they say "I'm going to the store, you need anything?", and you tell them a loaf of marble rye for sandwiches. And they text you a picture of the Acme shelf with 20 varieties of rye bread "which one?" - come on man just pick one.

Aren't you glad I'm back here to dispense invaluable anecdotes?
