Are we looking for rarest or most desired/expensive?

I wouldnt want that Zaius on my wall for instance, I dont care if there are 1 of them.

Rarest may also be the 1/1 Atlantic City NJ 05 Klausen variant, now on ebay for $2k.
Variants shouldn't count.  You would have 1000 "test prints" thrown into the mix then...

BRAD actually did two different 1/1 of the 05 Atlantic City prints, this one on eBay and the other is on my wall. The two have slightly different colors. He sold these on eBay with the proceeds going to help out his printing company he was using at the time
There are actually 4 different 1/1 editions for this one.
No, there are only two of the Atlantic City 05. Brad did sell two 1/1 of the 08 Camden at the same time.
There's alot to be said for Nowhere
  • i guess then one the band signs for u in person or write  your name on the poster
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

I saw that on eBay too and was a bit skeptical about the writing & signature on the back, purportedly by Eddie Vedder. It's signed on the foam core or whatever the poster was backed with when it was framed so I don't see how it could've happened the night of the show (which is when I'd figure something like this would occur). And the name 'The Frogs' on the front, in what appears to be similar handwriting, seems to be written directly on the poster before it was framed. Hmmm...it's fun to play detective, eh?
Best band of the night doesn't refer to "tonight" but "the night". The Frogs is added on the glass after framing, you can see the reflection on the poster from the glass and the marker is unaffected. Looks to me like a gift after the event, not on the night.

Sydney 98 is the one I would love the most such a great theme with the crocodile playing the guitar & I will always give myself grief over not buying it at the time. The 98 tour is when the posters really started to come the fore & become a massive part of the band & collecting
Yeah. I got one about 8 years ago now, as that was my first show. Very seldom seen. Took me years to come across one and buy it. No pinholes either, mint condition and now framed.

Wouldn't the PJ20 Movie posters that were "found" during the soundtrack promotional scavenger hunt (not the big sized ones that were given out to PJ20 Alpine Package buyers) be the rarest since there's only 29 (one for each track on the soundtrack) and they are technically each one of a kind since they were marked for each track?
I agree, extremely rare! And i have one. :) Taking bids starting....

    Now! ;)

    Nahhh.  I'm good.
  • This one is pretty rare considering they let everyone buy as many as possible...

Thinking back a ways here, but I recall the true promo Emek did for Mirrorball being editioned out of only 10--it's essentially a PJ poster.

Obviously the smallest edition is the rarest by definition but....

to me a rare poster is a sought after one that never shows up for sale.  You hunt for years and years just to miss the Buy It Now during your conference call :anguished:
  • From a PJ scratch n dent sale a 10 years ago.... I got a Kenyon Hall EV poster.

Not to be a contrarian, but that's essentially a Neil Young poster. ;)

  • Is kozik 1993 Gorge/Portland not getting mention cause Neil has top billing? Isn’t that rare? Not sought after?

2nd show,   I’ve been looking for 25 years, found one in a mall print shop for $250 in mid 90s and that was a bridge to far.

    But now that I’m adulting....

I know some consider APs and Variants gimmicks, but curious on the smallest denominators on released signed and numbered editions.  I know my Ames Atlanta 03 is out of 50, yet isn’t really considered rare due to the abundance of SEs out in the wild.  Someone mentioned Mark 5s being out of 20 at a PJ20 poster tent and of course no SEs to compete with.  What else is limited on this scale or rarer (say 25 or less)?

I love rare posters. I'm lucky enough to have quite a few of the ones people are talking about: S/N 1998 St. Louis, S/N 2000 Blackie, S/N PJ20 Mark5, S/N PJ20 Billboard, S/N Ames Wrigley Variant....I also have a 1998 Ames Chicago/Alpine Valley & a 1997 Ames Oakland. I only collect posters from shows I attend. I had some good luck picking up posters back in the day. Apparently I was ahead of the game....
Oh man, what I would give to have the Oakland ‘97 Ames poster in my collection!! Like you, I only collect posters to shows I’ve been to and this one is on my list of grails. Probably the last time Oakland had a decent print too! 😂

I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever really know. This is from a seller on eBay. No run number.
    Things were different then

So it's signed and marked "GID" but no number to the right of that?
