Thinking back a ways here, but I recall the true promo Emek did for Mirrorball being editioned out of only 10--it's essentially a PJ poster.

Not to be a contrarian, but that's essentially a Neil Young poster. ;)

  • I love any conversation about rare posters.  Keep the posts comin’ as I always enjoy learning!

  • Is kozik 1993 Gorge/Portland not getting mention cause Neil has top billing? Isn’t that rare? Not sought after?

2nd show,   I’ve been looking for 25 years, found one in a mall print shop for $250 in mid 90s and that was a bridge to far.

    But now that I’m adulting....

I know some consider APs and Variants gimmicks, but curious on the smallest denominators on released signed and numbered editions.  I know my Ames Atlanta 03 is out of 50, yet isn’t really considered rare due to the abundance of SEs out in the wild.  Someone mentioned Mark 5s being out of 20 at a PJ20 poster tent and of course no SEs to compete with.  What else is limited on this scale or rarer (say 25 or less)?

I love rare posters. I'm lucky enough to have quite a few of the ones people are talking about: S/N 1998 St. Louis, S/N 2000 Blackie, S/N PJ20 Mark5, S/N PJ20 Billboard, S/N Ames Wrigley Variant....I also have a 1998 Ames Chicago/Alpine Valley & a 1997 Ames Oakland. I only collect posters from shows I attend. I had some good luck picking up posters back in the day. Apparently I was ahead of the game....
Oh man, what I would give to have the Oakland ‘97 Ames poster in my collection!! Like you, I only collect posters to shows I’ve been to and this one is on my list of grails. Probably the last time Oakland had a decent print too! 😂

I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever really know. This is from a seller on eBay. No run number.
    Things were different then

So it's signed and marked "GID" but no number to the right of that?

I suggested this once in a thread as I’m missing posters for Cinci and Columbus from the 2000 tour.  Maybe someday... =)

I actually contacted AMES Bros about going back & doing prints if I could get enough folks from the Forum here to commit to buying one. They dismissed my request/suggestion/idea very quickly. I think if the band requested such a thing, going back & creating posters for the 5 or 6 shows that did not get a poster, it would get done. And honestly...not mind blowing. More like heart breaking.... :s

Sounds more like rewriting history than filling in the blanks.

Totally understand. I was there as a teenager, clutching that poster trying to keep it dry all night, even tho I had seats on the field and it was raining. Somehow managed to keep the poster dry enough, then hung it to my walls with pushpins. It's in a cheap poster frame waiting for a proper home. It's not perfect, but it is mine, and it makes me smile.

My "white whale" is still the Sac / San Francisco 2000 poster. Somehow didnt get a poster, even tho I went both nights. Not sure what I was thinking. I refresh eBay every day looking for one...

Add East Troy WI (aka “The Ice Bowl”) to the 2000s without a poster.
