When did the band start making official posters? The '96 tour for a few shows, then the '98 tour they had them for most of (if not all the shows) but the copies were very limited (around 200 to 500 per show?). I think it was similar for the Binaural tour. I got a poster I didn't even know existed a few months back from the Portland 2000 show I attended. I think it says there were 250 copies of that one. The Boise show in 2000 didn't even have a poster.
I think after the Binaural tour the steadily increased the quantity. I think the quantity of posters has been increasing since the Riot Act and/or Canadian 2005 tour. I remember their being piles and piles of posters at the Seattle '09 shows. Quite a few at the Gorge 06 shows too.
I think the first few tours with posters would be the most rare. Especially the Yield tour because it was the first tour it was done consistantly. I don't think people knew they were buying collector's items. Most of them probably got thumbtacked to bedroom walls.. lol. The '96 tour too because it was a small tour and I think it was the start of posters.
If you go with unofficial posters (the ones for promoting the show rather than as a memento from the show) then anything old is probably rare. Unless you found a mint copy somewhere, most of them probably got damaged from weather and staples while they are strung to billboards and telephone poles?
Well there are also some posters from 92 when they were touring with RHCP. I don't don't know if those count since they were a multi band event. Its interesting going on the past tour part of the site. They have uploaded images of all the posters that went with the shows.

Yeah isn't there an old one that might be the RHCP tour (not the red devil one) but one with a piano sitting on a cobblestone street from like 92 or 93?
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!
Blackie and the Missing Link are the hardest to get because out of all of the really rare ones, these actually look pretty cool. A lot of what are being named in this thread can be picked up if you have the loot, but I rarely if ever see these two come up at all.
there was an Ames Roadkill poster that was one of the first if not the first....gross a dog with its head split open on the pavement. Was an all leg poster for 94. The ugly ass snake charmers were 95. I have seen that piano one pop up from time to time. Blackie I have seen a total of one time in 7 years or so. Anything 98 and below is pretty rare if you want to draw straws you can. The bulls poster I have never seen for sale ever until this auction. I have only seen a shitty graphic of it Kat put on from the old 5H concert chron, this is the first photo of it I have seen. lets face it there are a lot of rare ones. A singular holy grail is impossible to determine as we all have our own to find...
again anyone with a spare bulls on I have billboard PJ20, munk pitts, munk/dabs wrigley, bucnh of other I would consider packagin.
Charlotte & Greensboro, 2000. If anyone finds either of these please let me know.... :((
I went to both of those shows, and I don't think there was an official poster for either one specifically. There was a generic poster with the Binaural cover and a list of all the cities though... Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

no official poster from either show. merch stands at both shows were selling ames germany 2000 prints. there was also another generic tour poster, wide in shape, blue in color, also by ames.
That kozik and the big bear print are both rare as well. All of these are good, but I guess the question now is what defines rare? Many of these listed have come up for sale off and on over the years but some rarely if ever come up for sale.
If you consider the real meaning of "rare" then EMEK's Edmonton '11 Hand-Coloured Edition is rare, because only one is (was) avalibale. The majority of posters mentiond before have an edition of at least 20 or 50.

For the 2003 tour, Ames Bros. and/or the Ten Club let you pre-order the posters. I got a s/n poster from the Cincinnati show that never happened (the venue flooded). Not sure if they ended up doing a full printing run. If not, then I think this is a pretty rare one. " />" />

i have a 2000 binural poster, not litho, from there show in dallas tx. Its just the binaural cover with a bunch of cities at bottom, any idea on its rarity
I remember Dallas 98 being really rare and pretty popular topic on here for awhile. It is a nice print. Wish I had been able to go to that show. It sold out. I was 16 at the time. Awesome print though.

Saw this post, had to have that poster, and just made a deal for one. .... Now if only i could have a frame that cool to go with it!

Picked up a 2000 Katowice/Prague poster for my kids room. Thought they would enjoy the dinosaurs. How often do you see it come up for sale. I only paid $40 for it so I am assuming not rare but at the same time I got the only one I could find on sale. Does it come around often?
Thanks.
