Would this be a fair trade?? Framed Wrigley Ames variant for a sealed Benny??? Thoughts??

I've got a Wrigley Ames variant that's framed, double matted in red and blue and it looks sharp.....it's NOT DRYMOUNTED, so the poster could be taken out down the road, I don't really want to part with it but I'd rather have a benny on my vinyl shelf!! Any interest??

as long as both people on both ends of the trade are happy. Both items go anywhere from $800-1200 depending on the current market conditions so happiness on both ends is what counts!! My 2 cents anyway.

You can take your 2 cents and put shove it into a savings account so you can gain some money over time. :-B

There is no variant for a benaroya vinyl. For the Wrigley poster AMES printed 3,000 or whatever posters and then a hundred or so with a different color. Keep the one of a kind Benaroya vinyl and buy the cheaper show edition of the poster. Best of both worlds.

I wouldn't trade my Benaroya for it, but maybe someone likes posters more than vinyl. Can't hurt to ask. Good Luck

There's 55 variant posters out there, one of which is amazingly framed on my wall.....I'm saying I would trade it for. Benny.....any takers?

I wish I knew more about posters to help! My Benaroya Hall was a gift from my folks, so its worth is enduring to me.

You just need to find someone who prefers posters which is very possible. Although honestly, framing does hurt the value in most cases so just be aware.

Good luck... I would imagine you can work something out.

It's drymounted just so it could be taken out in the future

By the way, it's double matted in blue and red.....has a black frame and the frame has a lil red in it....it looks absolutely stunning!!

I don't know how she mounted it.....I've just heard that term before so I assumed thats what it was called.....I basically told the framer that I wanted it done so I could take the poster out down the road if I ever wanted to remove it without damaging the poster. With the writing on the back I thought that would be best.

Whats drymountng?? I don't know much about framing...

If you told the framer you wanted to be able to take it out...im sure they DID NOT drymount it. Drymounting is actually gluing the print to some type of backer board.

I may be wrong, but I think most people who drymount usually do it with a print that is in bad condition to try to get rid of wrinkles and creases.

Oh god... If you drymounted it you are dunzo. You are looking at probably a few hundred dollars you could sell that for. Drymounting sucks all the metallics and any nice touches right off the picture. In this case, it's a pretty simple image with no fancy metallics so it will be less noticeable, but any collector will pay considerably less if it's dry mounted.

I didn't know that's why drymounting was.....and no, this poster is not drymounted....I watched her frame this poster and she did none of that, I was so nervous that I told them I wanted to be in the back room when they framed thems because of the value.....I didn't like anyone touching it!!

but if you plan to keep it the no worries but if you plan to sell it trade it, you need a very special buyer.

    I'm not talking about posters!!!

As for the poster I'm 1000% positive this isn't drymounted.....I watched her put the poster into the double matting and into the frame, no glue of nothing like that, this poster can be taken out of the frame with no damage!!

ya....I would trade it for a benny or some other crazy vinyl, I'd rather keep it on my wall but I'm more of a vinyl collector than a poster collector.....just seeing if there's any interest!

I'd say you could get an open Benny for sure - tough for someone to give up a sealed Benny unless they really really really needed the money for "life reasons"... it may just take a while for the right person though

Do you happen to have a pic of it framed? Would love to see the frame-job

I think posting a picture would help your cause. As well as consider dropping the sealed portion of your vinyl request as many more copies are opened now than sealed 10+ years later and I imagine most, if not all, are treated with the utmost care. Say like "no skips" or something if you want to go there. Maybe sealed is that big of a deal for you and this trade, so stay put if you like. Just know there is a very small finite number of people you are talking to that have a still sealed Benny and hoping they want a poster over vinyl. I think it is a very cool poster and I was trying to get it the Saturday morning of the show only to strike out on the website. Nevertheless, I'm keeping my nonsealed vinyl. Good luck to you though; hopefully the poster finds a happy new appreciater. -DP

Pic posted.....and I didn't realize I was asking for a sealed Benny.....I was asking for thoughts on that.....I would trade for a opened Benny as long as it's in mint condition and plays perfect!!
