to me... 20+ years... big whoop.
The guy is dead- he wasn't simply injured. The result of this guy's response to the minor confrontation has robbed the life of a man- he's not coming back- it's over.
I read on this message board all the time how people say, "We have devalued human life." Well, part in parcel, goes the assertion that when we mete out, oh, say 10-20 years for some idiot that snuffed the life out of some guy... we have placed a price on human life. And in my books... it's waaaaay too cheap.
Punishment needs to fit the crime. This case shouldn't be a death penalty case (although I support the death penalty in certain situations), but it should mean life in prison. No parole. Get your ass behind bars and serve your time you ridiculous example of a human being.
