I bought a set from another member, but only because it was grouped in with 27 other 7" PJ records so I could justify the price. On it's own, I might go as high as $125. I think it would have been $80 to ship to me here so I would pay a little more than face value but not a ton more.

Best way of working out what people are generally willing to pay would be to a completed items ebay search

Here you will often get the face value reply, which is all well and good, but if it comes to actually wanting one people are going to have to pay more. It seems around $350 is the current 'market rate' but I think once the dust settles we could have an item that will grow more valuable.

    could be wrong though

yes, all I see on Ebay is $300 - $400 and even $500, so im interested to see what this baby is worth.
  • i dont think many have gone for above 500 if any. maybe just one or two. about 2 weeks ago it seems i didnt see many going for more then 475 or so. There were so many that BIN ones above 475 werent even selling

So if I found one for $320-$340 would you say thats a decent price to pay.

Will, I'm not the best gauge cause I haven't been around here as long as some of these other guys, no one really knows which way it will go, I wouldn't be surprised if some cheaper ones end up in this forum, I think on ebay they are as low as they will go right now and for the next little while as guys get their orders in the mail and throw up the listings. As those listings disappear and the sets end up in the hands of those who want to keep them, price could go up.

You must be new to the collectors market willbarclay... Here's some friendly advice: Items are worth whatever you're willing to pay for them. If you see them selling for $XXX on eBay or elsewhere and you really want it; then pay the asking price. If you think it's worth less than what you're seeing it listed for, then ask the seller / record store owner / friend if they would sell at your asking price. Be firm in what you set for your own standards and never go over what you're comfortable paying. Goodluck to ya and if you find something cool, please share it with us!

Thanks for the advice. I am new here. And from Canada as well.

Cheers, and I will share anything cool I find in the future.

Well i was just just commenting on how expensive ones were selling or not selling on ebay. It's entirely up to you though. If its worth it for you to pay that much then go for it. there are ones listed pretty high with the make an offer deal, so see where that goes i guess

well id like to keep this item for a long time, and one day hopefully pass it down to my son, and im thinking it must have some good value at that time.
  • If you want to buy for value I would buy Google not a PJ record. :-)

Buy it because you like it!

It's all in the eye of the beholder. Whatever it's worth to you. I would wait though before spending that much money. I think more and more people are receiving them and some even had no intention of selling them until they realized that it's not what they thought.

This box set had a ton of hype because it sold out so fast, so the prices are high.

My personal feeling is that not everyone intended to flip this set, so some people intended to actually spin it. Without a jukebox it is useless, since no one wants to flip a record every 4 minutes... Just hold on to your cash- I bet this comes down in price here and there- you'll be able to score it for less than $300 from someone who realizes that it's a collection of songs from an album they already have with no B sides at all.

Other people will disagree, but I'd say wait. It will help you out.

I would pay $25 ($30 w/shipping). Not joking, I really think that's how much a set like this should cost.

$300 is ridiculous. Willing to pay $200 max. Still that's $30 a 45 with $20 for the book and box and still pricey.
