I agree the prices are crazy ... but think if this was a "Beatles" item released back in the day and very limited.
What would the value be today?

Thoughts on Sevens in the longer forecast?

also ... im not comparing the Beatles and PJ, so dont even think it. HA

I'd listen to Paul. He has a pretty good handle on these things.

Best way of working out what people are generally willing to pay would be to a completed items ebay search

Here you will often get the face value reply, which is all well and good, but if it comes to actually wanting one people are going to have to pay more. It seems around $350 is the current 'market rate' but I think once the dust settles we could have an item that will grow more valuable.

    could be wrong though

Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Many have gone form more than $500. I set up a list and put every Sevens that was listed on ebay into the list. There were more than a dozen that sold for more than $500 and a few of those were over $600. This was in the first few weeks after they sold out.

i dont think many have gone for above 500 if any. maybe just one or two. about 2 weeks ago it seems i didnt see many going for more then 475 or so. There were so many that BIN ones above 475 werent even selling

I think theyll settle into the 350-450 range over time. Maybe a little higher. Its a special piece for vinyl lovers. If they were numbered probably more. Helps that theyre multicolored tho. Vinyl collectors are a quirky bunch.

They're going for 350 to 400 on ebay and I think as listings end, more listings will go up as they reach other countries. I think the rareness of the item will keep prices up on the secondary market.

It's supply and demand. If you have 5000 people that want one and 2000 copies (completely made up numbers) then the price goes up until only 2000 people want them at that price point.

There's no other way to get one. I agree with the previous poster. I expect the price to stay stationary on ebay for a while as auctions close and new copies get posted. Once those dry up and these are in peoples collections instead of flippers, then they will be few and far between.

It probably has more value as a collector's item than being a box set of 7 inch records. Sort of like how a blue vs. is a novelty, but its scarcity gives it some serious value.

That's my take on it anyways. A lot of people wanted one. A lot of people (especially on here) have some pretty solid pj collections. They didn't make that many of them. It'll keep the price up. Once tthe initial glut works its way from flippers to collectors, they're going to be pretty hard to obtain. The harder something is to obtain the more it costs.

The people who bought thru Amazon will have to try and find a copy now. This should make the cost rise on the secondary markets.

Maybe a handful on the auction site, I see the price going up.

The price of these will continue to drop. A ton of these were bought just to be resold so the secondary market is flooded with them. They might be cool, but they'll never be rare or difficult to find, which is what ultimately dictates the value.

    I respectfully disagree
Once all the flippers have sold theirs to pearl jam collectors there won't be many left available ... Making them hard to find and valuable

IMO 2 months from now, unfortunately, 350$ will look like a fucking steal....

Just like posters...when vinyl finally hits its final home with collectors, ones for sale become VERY scarce and that's what will dictate the market price. It will take a while, but these Sevens will find their final resting place. Which will in turn make the few left for sale even more valuable.

Prices will continue to fall for flippers trying to get rid of them, because a real flipper doesn't want money tied up in one item for to long.

But I think this time next year. Sevens will prolly be in the range of $500. I don't think they will quite as collectable as the Benaroya Hall, but will still retain a very high value..

The bottom was hit about a week and a half ago. $280. Lowest price I've seen on eBay. Now they are going back up IMO. One selling for 350 right now.
