We usually have dinner at a friends for Christmas Eve, breakfast at the in-laws and then dinner at my moms.

Tonight (or last night) we had Osso Buco- brussel sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes- roasted parsnips and an apple tart.

For Christmas dinner- its going to be a seafood extravaganza!

    Merry Christmas to you all!

    12 years later.
And I am once again thinking of cooking pulled pork for sandwiches and some homemade soup.

Anyone have any Christmas Eve dinner ideas for me? No beef though. We will do Rib Roast on Christmas day.

    Maybe lasagna on Christmas Eve.

    Ideas? Anyone?

I really wish I could do seafood.
But Kathy would protest, kick me in my jingle balls, drop Rudolphs dung in my stocking, and get all Grinchy.

It’s all regional preferences, lot of ny’ers , Catholic/ Italian/ Croatians others too do that on Xmas Eve…. I like it as I’m big into seafood… so much food, it just keeps coming and coming and coming and when you think it’s over …. Keeps coming and coming… I usually prepare a week for it with lots of water and eating light, It’s overwhelming ….. then the deserts are ridiculous too…it’s hard to limit your intake ….

We’re going with prime rib with sides probably baked potato or Scalloped potatoes as the main course! For starters I’m going Rockefeller oyster and crab cocktails, I’m getting fresh crab meat from Maryland sent to us by family
