Why do these storms have to hit during the week? Like, if you have to come and drop 4-6" of snow can't you do it on a Friday evening? This freaking winter is either going to leave me in the hospital or failing out the semester for missing too many days. I don't see how it can go any other way if this stupid snow continues.

So my wife and I took tomorrow off to spend some adult time together -- and now it looks like we'll probably be stuck at home with the kids.

I already packed several files and sent myself a few emails so I can work from home tomorrow. I did that last Wednesday too but had no idea about the snow last Monday so I just shoveled and relaxed.

Not going to happen now due to the storms.
Consolation prize? Leftovers at home w/family and shoveling tomorrow. :))

Same here. Better to be safe I guess. They are saying only 6 inches up here but by the looks of the projected weather pattern I'd guess closer to a foot. Snow day for kids tomorrow for sure. Shoveling, sledding and hot chocolate.

Yep... school's already cancelled. I have the hot chocolate stocked up. I usually have to work on snow days bc I work in home health and these people must be seen regardless of weather. I just might give in tomorrow though and take a vacation day. I am sick of struggling with the weather. Something is telling me to stay home tomorrow.

  • Yeah it looks to be more than half a foot and there was a load of rain mixed in, so had the temp stayed below freezing I think we would be looking at the most snow in a storm this year. Still could be that way...meant to crap on us all day.

So tired of this winter in general. Between the frigid days and weekday storms I am DONE and ready for the nice weather to get here.

Seems I spend a lot more $$ on vinyl during the winter too, trying to make myself feel better I guess?!

the kids here have missed so much school it is ridiculous. late starts, early outs & school closings have probably added up to two weeks worth of classes. the deal is our temperatures have been well below zero almost constantly & we have pretty big snow storms as well, regardless it is the below zero temperatures that hold up schools.

& well buses don't run well down unplowed country gravel roads where the roadway is drifted shut for days at a time. in this case buses only run on hard surface roads only.

be well & go at it easy

a week or more ago i was shoveling like a super freak & my R shoulder popped & went dead like. i could barelly lift my arm & it wasn't a pleasurable sensation either. back pain a different story. maybe you need a back brace or something. today actually i'm seeing the staff at orthopedicts to go over the x-rays they took a couple days ago. i foresee a cortizone injection

We have a stupid amount of snow that's fallen. Wife got to stay home from work today, which is nice.

But me? I work from home. So I don't get a snow day. Dammit. (Cue sympathies for me now ...)

I've lived in the Boston area my whole life, and when I was a kid, we rarely had school called off because of snow. Now, they are sometimes calling it off the day before, and sometimes for just a few inches. I guess it's cheaper to call off school than pay the plow guys to maintain the streets? Or everyone's afraid of being sued or beat up by angry parents?

Only one inch so far here. I'd rather it snow during the day so I can shovel once before bed and be done. From the looks of what the rest of the east coasters are saying it'll snow until tomorrow morning since it just started.

I would agree that snow days certainly are more common these days. We used to walk up hill both wa.............
