I was at the show , and it started out great, but the crowd was so lame.
They offered up n energy or support for the fucking home town band that sells out touring the world!
All the other cities celebrate and embrace the home town heros..ex bruce, lame ass bon jovi, billy joel, list goes on an on. For all the charity work and support this fucking band gives to seattle...they get nothing in return.
I will never fly out here for a show again...

If you see this band in the north east, south america, mid america, even the south... It is off the hook.
It is like going to church and singing with the largest family in the world...its fucking beautiful.
Seattle....no wonder its a dead place..they do not appreciate a iconic once in a generation home town band.

And in Canada too, and don't forget Europe.... sounds like Seattle is the one place not to see them. Strange.
Good point ablit all the local charity work BTW. Not that they should expect anything in return for that, but the locals showing huge appreciation would be cool to see.

Whatever Debbie Downer, the crowd last night was fine, light years better than the last time they played Seattle.

That sad trombone you carry around must be getting heavy.

    Thank you!
  • Sorry i was at the show... Ed had ask the crowd to wake up.... thats why the second encore was lame.
  • The section that I was in was awesome last night! Everyone singing along, people swaying and locking arms.
My experience of last nights show was that it was amazing. I'm sorry that your experience wasn't the same.
  • i understand that maybe the crowd wasnt that good as other shows,or not much energy..
but why this type of thread are so aggresive and with name calling about the local town fans,,?
i dont get it..do u really think that make your point stronger or somnething?

Don't be sorry. People like the TC think that PJ should be treated like gods, and that every live show should be some kind of transcendental experience which creates a spiritual awakening in all the participants. Like we actually owe them something. As opposed to, y'know, just going to a rock show.

And we should somehow laud Eddie for being drunk off his ass before the show was even halfway through? I mean, I had a great time last night, but christ man, he could have paced himself a bit better...
  • I would say the fact that you consider Seattle, a "Dead Town"...is pretty much all I need to read to know your opinion is wacked.

In my opinion. Eddie is a great performer. He fakes being drunk, and the bottles have either water of Gatorade in them. It's part of the show. :)

Hey, he is an all-time great frontman, and I love the guy. But I can say with some confidence there was neither water nor Gatorade in those bottles.

all you can do is worry about yourself.

if security makes it a point to give you a hug because they thought it was awesome that you were rocking out so much by yourself, then you know you're doing it right.
did you see me? i saw you.

True. Seattle is fun! OP seems biased against it. I mean, it's no NYC or anything, but it's still a cool city and fun to visit.

OP sounds like a scared 14 year old who got lost at the Space Needle and started to panic when he saw the evil "lib'ruls" lighting up a few doobies.

I think he actually gets drunk sometimes, but I know for an fact that at least one of those wine bottles has something other than wine in it. I saw him take a big swing from one on Wednesday and it ran all down his chin. It was a red wine bottle and the shit on his face was clear. He switches back and forth between wine and water or whatever, and also gives away half a bottle of wine that he is drinking from... obviously. Eddie is a small man. If he drank as much wine as he appears to in only a few hours he wouldn't just be giddy or tipsy. He'd be staggering around and slurring his words. It would be like the fucking Singles promotional show again. I thini he knows it's just more fun for everyone to see him chugging on a bottle of booze than it is to see him sipping out of a gatorade bottle with a sports cap. I agree. Ed looks good with a bottle of wine filled with water. ;)

BTW, i think the giant bottle he started dragging out this tour to share with the fans is awesome! What other front man makes a point of bringing booze to pour for the folks on the rail?? Eddie rocks. :D

  • They should play better songs then.

In theory it should be the loudest, hardest, most bad ass of the tour.I can't comment on last night I wasn't there and Bmore was my only show this tour cycle(so far). But I get the Op thought here.
Last year we went to Welcome to Rockville Fest in Jacksonville(fucking awesome fest by the way) .3 of the bands playing in the 2 day were from Jax.Lynard Skynard,Limp Biskit ,And Shinedown. All received major hometown welcome and respect from the 70,000 fans.Energy was through the roof, crowd was amped and all acts felt the vibe and acknowledged from the stage. It made the night more special and they talked about coming up in the local scene and small venues paying dues.So I get it.If I went to a Seattle show I would want to "feel" that home field advantage so to say.just my opinion
.Also correct is many on this board do elevate the position of the band like they can do no wrong and follow like a cult.Dudes are a kick ass band who rock.I go to the shows to be part of that.I don't agree or could care less about all the other stuff.its a rock concert. Its about having fun.
  • They should play better songs then.
Or maybe they thought that a lame crowd shouldn't get those better songs ;)
