Those who create the limited supply create the over-demand.

If what you stated is the case, why wouldn't the 10c just have created more and made it an open order like they did with the vault 3? This would have been a better investment to save them hours of time watching ebay and tracking them

Yeah plus THEY would make more money if they sold more (ten club). I seriously doubt this is the case. Plus it's probably not like if there was one Sevens bought in Chicago, and one sold on ebay from Chicago seller, revoke them. There are probably many bought and some will sell from/in Chicago (just picked Chicago as an example).

Plus, not to nit pick, BUT this is one of the few items that did NOT say "not for resale." I think if this conspiracy theory would have worked, it would have been for an item that clearly said that when you purchased it. So at least they'd have something to back up the permanent ban from the Ten Club over.

    Not buying the story.

They've sold toy sheep. All bets should be off.

    Note: I bought the sheep.

Sometimes I wonder if half of Ten Club are managing an organization to resell these products, since their business model is distinctly anti-fan and pro-eBay reseller

Now who's the conspiracy theorist. I think this discussion is getting wacky. I was seriously trying to help deter these flips by getting the word out about what I had heard and now everyone is espousing these crazy ideas. :fp:

    Chuck,

You're right that reads as a conspiracy theory - and thankfully not one I believe. I'm just astounded how decision after decision can be so unanimously agreed upon by a client base as wrong, and how the powers that be - who have this tremendous opportunity where clients give their two cents on the business management - seem to whistle as they walk on by. Many businesses pay to have their client base surveyed for opinions, likes, dislikes, etc. - we give it to them for free. Unfortunately, what should be a tremendous gift to this management is actually a curse when combined with their inability to take said advice for the most part. Though don't get me wrong - every now and then they do something great that almost redeems them. The higher-quality bootleg offerings, including an annual code for a bootleg download, implementing the lottery for tickets, GA, are all really superb ideas. It's their merchandising that seems to be out of whack.

    Ok ok ok.

Obviously I was joking from the start. I think some of you got it and some didn't and that's funny. I just wanted to start a funny conversation about something I think is kinda fucked up. I get it. If you can seriously make 500 or 600 bucks on something you just paid 55 for good on ya I guess but I wouldn't want that Karma when there are people out there who would seriously want this but are smart enough not to pay those flip prices. 10c does things how they do things and whatever anybody does with a product after that is on them, not the 10c. A task force to stop flipping is comical. Glad I thought of it. When I woke up this morning I thought it would be fun to start a thread like this and see what happens. Now the cats out of the bag I still want to continue the conversation. If people were turning and selling this thing for like 75 or 100 bucks I'd get people paying for it. Doesn't excuse the flip but I get paying 25 extra bucks to get a copy. But 500???? And seriously I saw a bid on auction site for that!

Hmmmm this whole thing is questionable. I'm starting a task force to see if you were serious or joking when you created the post.

I heard through a credible source that one of if not the main reason there were so few sevens sets sold is 10c is closely tracking where they end up and will be revoking 10c memberships of those people they catch flipping. I noticed on one of the auction sites that there were bids as high as 550 for a 55 dollar set. I agree if that's what they are doing as one of the people who just missed out on getting a set and would have listened to them!

I'm 100% against flipping but this is not likely. They don't give a s**t!
This guy says he is against flipping but I have seen him praising people sell Benny Halls for 1g. How is that not flipping? I understand there is a grey area. But this dude is a hypocrite

How would the Ten Club know who the seller is unless the purchaser reports them?

I heard the 10 club was the buyer on every single "Sevens" auction on the bay. Everyone who flipped it, is screwed!

Soon as I get my box set , it is getting traded for a Wrigley Crackerjack poster. So who is getting the better deal ?
I used it as a bargaining chip. I wanted that poster more than I wanted bad vinyl , potentially....
