    In my opinion, no.

I rarely listen to Lost Dogs but it is cool to hear the rarities at a show or on a boot

If I could cherry pick 10 songs from both records it would be much, much better.

I agree. No. Too choppy, no flow. It was produced like it is supposed to sound, like a bunch of random stuff thrown together from different eras and different places in their lives. Sure I'd love it in vinyl for my collection to spin but I rarely listen to it. Put it in my car stereo for the drive to the shows last weekend for the first time in probably 10 years! (Wasn't it released in Nov 2003, actually?!)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not into overproduced albums at all but as an album playability is a major influence in how I feel about it. Can I throw it on the turntable and feel a progression, or is it a mix tape gone wrong?

just my opinion. let the $hit talking begin!

I really love Lost Dogs - it has many AMAZING songs on it, and I love that it's a double album. But there are too many stupid songs on it as well for it to be the best album, despite the fact that much of it is incredible. If you took away the dumb stuff, like Gremmie Out of Control, Sweet Lew, and Bee Girl, as well as the weaker (IMO) songs like Strangest Tribe, Let Me Sleep, Last Kiss, and Dead Man, then it would be a strong contender for best album.

Yeah, I love Hitchhiker! I like Whale Song too, actually. Don't Gimme no Lip and Last Kiss suck though.

the "YOU'RE COOL" line KILLS me. ugh.

i've been meaning to edit the track listing on my ipod for this album to delete the songs i can't stand and rearrange the ones i do like. there are obviously some standouts, but obviously some gigantic clunkers that just cannot be taken seriously and you have to assume the band was just fucking around in the studio with a couple tracks.

I don't necessarily have to take every song seriously, but if it's going to be amusing, it better be good.... Like Dirty Frank. :) I love that song. But Bee Girl and Sweet Lew and Gremmie are just terrible.

I like Hitchhiker because how it came about amuses me. Those stupid briar things that stick to your pants when you're hiking were the inspiration.

It was certainly never meant to be anything other than what it is. A collection of b-sides. But why not put Leatherman on there??

I'm glad that Leatherman was left off, I'd rather have a 4th LP of Lady Gaga added in than to have that stupid song on there.

Exactly. While the typical PJ album has a few songs that I connect less with, generally speaking I connect well with all of it. On Lost Dogs, there are a number of songs I just flat-out don't like. There are also some real winners for me personally. That is probably to be expected on a compilation of rarities and B-sides.
