This is nothing but 10C members flipping to 10C members that are desperate.....

Why not just do this in 'Lost Dogs' and be done with it?

Why does ebay need to make 10%?

People are freaking out over these. It'll settle down over time.
  • if listed on lost dogs for $500 cash you would get flamed so bad. :fp:

wait till some of these sellers find out that the sets are numbered, coloured vinyl, etc.... $500 may end up as a deal. :fp:

***EDIT. Not saying they are numbered, coloured... Be nice if they were. :D

  • These initial sky-high values are only based on hype, they'll diminish over time.

The sales trend is currently mimicking the PJ20 Deluxe Blu-ray, not the Benny.

Where else can you get a 800 % to 1000 % or higher return on an investment nowadays? ebays 10% cut is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I don't like it but I really don't blame them for dong it. Hell, if times get bad enough for me it'll be one of the first things to go.

No shit! People can bitch all they want, but i don't blame anyone for cashing in on those inflated prices. If I'm ever struggling to pay the mortgage my records will go a long way.

true but wasn't that available for over a month in what must be much higher numbers on a less desirable and collectible medium Steve?

I mean this was up for a few hours, and seems super limited,

and the thing that decimated the pj20 deluxe value was the reissue I thought

Agreed. Different medium, no reissue as yet. Not similar to PJ20 deluxe

  • What I am amazed at is that these are being traded already. You'd think people would want to wait until they had them before making trades or selling them. I'

I tend to get a feeling these things are super rare as Paul mentioned above. We couple be talking a very limited run. These things sold out fast. Loads of people on here missed out, how many other non forum collectors missed out? Maybe we're talking low hundreds in the run. Maybe we've just witnessed the birth of the next super collectible.

I am amazed at the number of people who believe this will not be a highly sought after set. I think the people who missed out are very sore and are predominately the ones talking sh*t about the set. They are trying to make themselves feel better, all while trying to decrease the price they will have to pay on the secondary market. :|

Just as with all preorders that sell out quickly, the demand is sky high but the people selling are low because they are too nervous to sell without having it.

Once its shipped more will sell and price will drop. Question from that point is if it levels off, drops more or jumps up once initial sellers dump their set.

But if I were buying on ebay I'd wait - just my opinion. Dont feel those first few selling before they even have it. They suck.

I thought I was buying a Wrigley Ames variant for a crazy high price.....I got it the same week that the people recieved them from Ames.....well after I bought it the price went up 3 times what I bought it for....and that is a poster! More people collect vinyl than posters and with this sevens set being really limited I could see it jumping up in price once everyone gets them because the true collector's will not let this go and with the limited number already out there even less will be for sale or floating around.....gonna be interesting to see!
Cant buy what i want cause its free....

I agree its a gamble either way, but there were like 55 of the Ames variants or so? This has to be at least close to a thousand sold, so when they do ship there will be a lot more online.

It's possible that those first few in hand will go for more, but at least for a small time the price SHOULD drop as supply increases.

Definitely a gamble either way, but I would wait. People selling right now are trying to take full advantage of those who missed out and are panicked into paying even more.

It's the same story every time. Those people that got one are saying how valuable they're gonna be and those who missed out are saying prices will drop. It's the same hype every time. Paul was comparing it to the colored Ten singles set, but those we're never publicly sold and are WAY more rare. It's just the closest thing to it. I get the comparison, but on the other hand, that's like comparing a white backspacer to a blue Colombian Vs.
If I were to guess, having collected PJ vinyl for 20 years, these will ultimately settle around the $250-$300 range. I'm also wondering why it's still up in the shop. Usually sold out items are taken down pretty quickly. I'm not saying they'll necessarily become available again, but let's not forget it was a presale.

I got one and I still think value will drop once they are shipped/out there. I just don't believe you can assume price will jump up because more will sell once they actually have it. Happens with anything collectible - not just PJ.

I think it will drop, but hard to say to what. I would just not buy now if I had missed, but obviously there's no sure answer either way.

Yeah it's always tough gauging what they'll end up at, especially since the powers that be at the 10c are so hush hush about the details of limited items.

I don't think the value on these will be sky high for long because they are 45's.

I dont think them being 45s has anything to do with value. They are collectors items. Look at all the 45s that Third Man puts out...limited ones are VERY pricey.
