“…it’s necessary that we continue a discussion to figure out how to unravel the situation where something like that can happen and make sure the odds of it happening again are very slim,” a solemn Vedder told the crowd.

This is what they are mad about?

    Cant even say that?

By the way: being attacked by infowars, and that absolute piece of shit Alex Jones and his brainwashed minions of idiots, is a badge of honor. He/they are ALMOST everything that is wrong about free speech. I say 'almost', because obviously we still have the Westboro Baptist Nutjobs.

I personally, in my opinion, agree 100% with EV and want stricter gun laws. The thing that I don't get is that PJ and EV solo tours often have gun images in their posters. I suppose occasionally there are hidden anti-gun statements in there. Even the mind your manners art & shirt I find to not be the greatest idea, given the bands stance and platform.

But having the gun on the MYM shirt is what makes the statement...that's the whole point??

I get that, i think that is probably the point on the posters as well. I know its not certainly not an ad for guns. The imagery at times, on those items is what makes me not buy them and I agree with the bands standpoint 100%. My point is, we've heard stories of people receiving unfair treatment due to wearing the MYM shirt etc. To some people they don't get the point when they see the graphic. For what it's worth...

  • The cutline for the photo of Ed standing on the rafters or whatever that is, is hilarious.

Alex Jones is one of the dumbest motherfuckers on this planet. He and his shitty website are a complete joke to anyone with an ounce of brains.

    that video made me proud.

nothing drives me crazy more than "news" outlets doing what they do best, changing peoples words around. there was nothing offensive about what eddie said, and he sure as shit never said he wanted to take peoples guns away.. but for fucks sake, it is INDEED easier to get a gun than a drives license.

  • What I found interesting about the comments was that those psychopaths attacking Ed call him things like, "sissy" and "girly girl" because he's not jerking off a rifle on stage.

It's sad that these freaks think having a gun makes them men and if you disagree with them you're a sissy. They sound like a bunch of fucking ignorant hicks, thereby living up to the stereotype many have attached to gun owners.

I appreciate the fact that Eddie speaks so freely about causes he is passionate about, even if they are not always popular views. To me, our society has become a very scary place because of gun violence & I personally think it’s great that someone as popular as EV has the balls to speak up publicly on this issue.

The right to bear arms part of the Constitution was written for very different times, and I don’t understand why a person’s right to feel safe at schools, malls, concerts, etc. isn't given a higher priority.

  • If guns should be banned, what will Eddie Vedder's Armed guards at home shoot with?

he never said they should. thats the whole problem with this fucking issue. as soon as ANYONE makes a peep about "reasonable and responsible solutions" ALL THE RIGHT WING JUNKIES come out of the woodwork "THEY ARE TAKING ALL OF OUR GUNS".. simmer down, for christ sake.

This is SO correct! Vedder encourages dialogue. The gun nuts, and the gun control advocates (two extreme sides) end up assigning their beliefs to his words.

Maybe Eddie wants a continued discussion because he thinks 'Gun Free Zones' are a bad idea...
Maybe Eddie wants a continued discussion because he thinks all guns should magically be destroyed...

OR maybe Eddie is a very rational person addressing an irrational dilemma and wants people to respectfully and productively talk about that dilemma.

I love how Infowars immediately thinks Eddie wants everyone's guns RIGHT AWAY based on that concert talk.

That is their agenda. To take away firearms and our freedom. What laws need to be added thats not already on the books? These are the same people that think AR stands for Assualt Weapon. You can't leagally own an assualt rifle in most of the states. It is a very difficult thing to do.

Our own Government has killed more civilians than all of the US population. When they take are only means of self defense from them, there is no telling what they will do next.

Actually I believe I read it in Spin mahazine awhile back. Some people were giving EV death threats,

Anyways, This thread should be moved to the Moving Train Folder....

I think that was 1996 and it was probably temporarily. The crazy person who drove her car into the house has been taken care of, I assume.

    Ya I think your right.

Anyways, I do support Eddie speaking out. He has a right to do so. I just don't agree with him.
He changed my mind about abortion. I still think its murder but a person should have a right to their own body. The government doesn't own your body and has no right to tell you what you can do to it.
