    Pedophiles are worthless.

I think one thing many can agree on out of this jumbled mess of a thread is that there are some right brain thinkers that spend too much time trying to understand pedophiles. To me it's pretty simple: touch a child... and you get whatever's coming to you.

Don't confuse this with advocating for vigilante justice. Those examples are shocking. But if I walk in on someone touching one of my children... or I go to the side of my house and some freak is jerking off while leering at my daughter... there's going to be a problem.

For that matter, what are the police going to do? Our joke of a penal system essentially offers a 'fireside chat' to try and make the vulgar piece of matter understand that being sexually attracted to a 5 year old girl is inappropriate. And then... the piece of shit is released to begin anew with a different and unsuspecting target.

I'll take Chadwick's emotional outrage over the armchair psychiatrist's response to dealing with a bona fide pedophile any day. Call me a baboon if you wish.

OK I won't, but that is exactly what Chadwick has done on numerous occasions, and seems unable to grasp the notion of why hysteria and pitchfork wielding mobs are not a good idea. He's not a parent who has caught somebody molesting their child, he's just somebody whipping people up into a frenzy and encouraging them not to think before they act. That is exactly how that guy got burned to death for no reason at all :nono:

I have every sympathy with people who have acted to protect their child, that's not what he is talking about, he's talking about hunting people down and hurting them, this should be discouraged wherever it happens, not to do so is irresponsible.

And please, nobody here needs to be told that pedophiles are scum, so stop acting like anybody at all is defending them. That is absolute bullshit.

Yeah, this baboon pretty much sides with this.

(I also feel the same way towards poachers, and I don't believe chadwick is a whipper-upper in that [or this] sense)

Call it an outlet - a verbal or written one.

I'm not sure how to word this so I'll just say it.

As someone who somehow made it through several years of what should've been a simple and innocent childhood, I was molested by a "family friend". And to be honest, I wish I'd had the chance to pummel that sick motherfucker - physically or verbally - before he died.

To me, that's not vigilantism...it's justice.

And I would think that perfectly understandable, just as I am quite sure you would not want to see the wrong person punished for it.

I'm sorry for your pain, I hope you find peace.

Of course to your first point. Had something been done at the time, no question the proper person would've been punished.

And thank you - despite some remnant shards of anger, I've come to terms.
  • Ping, you have said it would be 'irresponsible' to seek someone out and harm them. Hedonist remarked that she would like to have had the opportunity for the chance to pummel that sick motherfucker - physically or verbally - before he died.

    To which you replied:

This is kind of contradictory to what you have been saying beforehand. Do you now feel it is okay for the victim of a pedophile to seek retribution?

Let me emphasize that I don't want to see anyone punished for anything they have not done. Let me also emphasize that pedophiles- the actual disgusting pedophiles that have committed the heinous acts they have been charged with- deserve whatever they get.

    Leave

    children

    alone.

Hedonist... I understand trauma too and I think this is why we see eye-to-eye so often. Pedophiles deserve whatever they get. Their crime is so obscene that even in prison where the moral code is as low as it might get... 'typical' prisoners do not tolerate them.

Okay? That's a wishy washy term, I do not think victims of crime should seek vengeance, I would actively discourage anybody from that path, but I understand why somebody who has been hurt might want to. That's not to say I think they should be immune to whatever laws they have broken, but I expect and would hope that all circumstances would be taken into account when deciding what to do with someone that had done such a thing. That does not mean giving carte blanche to victims of crime, but it means treating them with understanding.

Whether they should or should not be punished, that's a case by case thing and is very much dependant upon what they did, how and why.

So true - and as one who values your contributions here, I really wish trauma (of any sort) weren't something we have in common.
