No, it wasn't true that the mistake had anything to do with pedophilia activists, or that they "officially classified" pedophilia as an orientation, which were the two main points being made. In fact the diagnostic criteria for pedophilic disorder did not even change between the previous and current edition, it's nothing more than an error in a text discussion about the diagnostic criteria.

There is a big difference between identifying objective medical facts to fit them into the bigger picture of what remains criminal and unacceptable behaviour, and being a proponent for normalizing said criminal behaviours within the justice system. The technicalities of labelling pedophilia as a sexual orientation (although sounds like they are withdrawing this notion?? Or like the notion doesn't exist at all and reactionaries simply can't understand how studies are carried out and relayed?) are concerning because of what they could mean during criminal or civil trials given the right lawyer, but I don't think for a second that there is some kind of pro-pedophilia agenda here, as you seem to think.
