My first PJ show. Everything about that day was perfect. Easy in and out of the parking lot, easy merch lines. Weather was beautiful....Oh, and the show was pretty damn stellar..I still watch the you tube full SBD show from time to time..special night indeed.
That was the first show I ever edited. One of these days I'm going to go back and re-do it proper.
You did a fantastic job on it.This thread has me watching it again now. You can just see the band getting into it after Release. Best version of Corduroy ever. I love seeing Stone, Ed and Jeff REALLY feeling it while Mike is playing the greatest solo to that song I've ever heard. THEN we got Go/Why Go....Jesus what a start..Unreal setlist. Dont get me started on the sound of JPJ...bootleg honestly doesnt do it justice.
First show I went to solo and what a special night! It's still the boot I listen to the most of the shows I've been to (at least now before the Telluride and Fenway shows come out!). Couldn't believe the setlist that night. I had decided to go last minute since I was meeting up with a college friend for Chatlotte's show. So glad I made that call!! Met some really cool, faithfull fans like me and lucked into a ticket last minute. That's also a time when you could actually walk up to get merch without a wait. Wanted to hear what I now call the "depression trio" (Sad, Down and Alone) and got 2 out of 3. Even won New Orleans tix from Global Citizen for the Voodoo Festival after that but couldn't go to since I lost my wallet at this show. Antway, what a gem this turned out to be and I still feel lucky and grateful that I was able to experience it! Ok, end of chapter 1.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...

I had the ipod on shuffle and just ran head into mind you manners from this show. Amazing. 8th song of the set after Lightning Bolt , and they just killed it. Still so good.
Since Charlottesville, I've been to Cincinnati, St. Paul, Hampton, and both Wrigleys. I was at Baltimore two days before the C'ville show and I remember a bunch of people stirring shit that Ed & Jeff weren't getting along, which was just a big overreaction. (Ed forgot to announce Jeff at the B'more show, and Jeff pretty much peaced tf out at the end of RITFW.) I took 4 of my friends to C'ville and we sat in the nosebleeds. One friend is a pretty big fan, another claimed to be, and the other two just wanted to go to a concert. We all had a great time, except my one buddy the self-proclaimed fan who didn't know any songs that weren't from Ten or Vs, and bitched about the ticket price. I told them all that they got to witness a very special show but only one of them being a true fan of the band really understood that. All I know is, I had a great time and thought it was such a memorable night!
Wow, canNOT believe it's been 4 yrs (and 2 days) since this show! Missed the exact anniversary but it's never too late to say "Happy AwesomeShowVersary" everyone!!
Everything was perfect... the weather, the fall colors, beautiful C'ville (my favorite town in VA), the arena is great, merch lines were good, I walked in at 7 and was three rows back in GA and of course the exquisite set list....and only an hour drive home for me!
One of the best concerts I've been to by any band. I remember walking out in shock from what I had witnessed. Took my nephew to the show who l think was mostly interested in going to skip school and he was blown away by how good the band was. I found out last year that he still has his ticket in his wallet. A great night neither of us will ever forget.
One of the best days of my life! Instead of going to work I went to JPJ, got in line about 7:30 am, got on the rail, left with Ed's microphone cover that fell off when the mic dropped during "Faithfull," and they fucking played "Breath" and "State of Love and Trust" back to back!

Still my favorite show. Moline a close second. i remember walking out of there knowing we had seen something special and my wife even knew it. it was her second PJ show of 5. She became a diehard after that.

Having just witnessed the Seattle 2 Home Show, I was thinking of this show because this show was near the top of my list too. I don't even know how the top 3 or 5 shows attended are sorting on my list now, I just know that Charlottesville was a force to be reckoned with, and I witnessed a major awesome disturbance in the Cosmos on Friday night at Seattle 2, so... the Earth shook for me at both shows and I came away from both that much more in love with PJ, their music, these fans, and the energy and magic that is an amazing Pearl Jam concert.
Thanks to everyone who had anything to do with the magic, which includes every single attendee or person working at each venue, and of course the band and crew and their families!

I was at both also, and in this current 'era' of PJ shows, call it last 10 years, C'ville had always been tops. I believe Sea2 eclipsed it.

Very fortunate. Was at the VS show too and there's eclipsed them easily in my mind.
