Can anyone point me in the right direction for Brixton 93? Had a quick scan through but haven't seen it on here. Need it for my wife - it was her first PJ gig.
set: Long Road, Do the Evolution, Brain of J, Hail Hail, Go, Dissident, Even Flow, Given to Fly, Corduroy, Rearviewmirror, In Hiding, Jeremy, Daughter/(Ray of Light)/(Another Brick in the Wall), Nothingman, MFC, Off He Goes, Present Tense, Alive
enc 1: Wishlist, Better Man/(Save it for Later), State of Love and Trust, Black, Last Exit
enc 2: Baba O'Riley, Yellow Ledbetter
notes: Very tight, the first half hour just BURNS, until 'Dissident.' 'Corduroy' is notable as the version appearing on the Live on Two Legs album. 'Rearviewmirror' has a cool jam and strobes at the climax. Ed closes a sweet 'In Hiding' with "that's Stone's song ... this is Jeff's," leading to 'Jeremy." The 'Daughter' tag, 'Ray of Light,' is a Madonna song ("She's got herself a universe, and she feels - like she just got home.") Before playing 'Nothingman,' Ed states, "It's not about anyone I know ... it's completely made up ..." Before 'Off He Goes,' Ed takes a sip and claims he's drinking Gatorade so that he can "be like Mike." He talks about the places they have played in Chicago - Chicago Stadium, Soldier Field, United Center - and says, "The only one left is Wrigley Field. Of course it'll be a day show ... and we'll play two." Mike runs around the stage in huge circles throughout 'Present Tense.' When PJ returns for the encore, Matt starts drumming, and Stone sings a few lines of 'Walkin' on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves. One of the longest, most powerful 'Save it for Later' tags follows 'Better Man.' Mike's solo at the end of 'Black' is incredible. Jeff imitates Pete Townshend at the end of 'Baba O'Riley,' machine gunning the audience, as the place goes completely nuts! Ed tosses his red Gibson SG and smashes the headstock at the end of 'Baba.' Eddie wears a Bulls jersey, #3 (that says "Vedder" on the back) that he says Rodman gave him and he wasn't there but he'd give him a tape of the show.
"hear my name, take a good look, this could be the day."

Are all of these shows from sources where the taper did not request that the files stay in a lossless format? I'm all for free trading of bootlegs, I have tons of them...but shouldn't tapers' requests be honored? If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have any of these shows.

i knew someone was going to bring this up eventually. obviously i dont agree with you. if i didnt convert these shows i would need a 2TB hard drive to store all them. i also wouldnt be able to put them on my ipod. what is the big deal with sharing these files in mp3 again? i burn the lossless shows to dvd btw so i still have them. i listen to them in lossy though.

I obviously have nothing against you ripping things in MP3 and then putting them on your iPod. But if you share these in lossy formats, there's a chance people will try to pass them around in trading circles and say they're lossless. And I'm not sure what you "don't agree" with; is it that tapers' requests should be followed? If we don't listen to them and the quality of traded bootlegs plummets, there's a chance future shows won't be traded publically or they may not be taped at all.

I think that the majority of fans who will download from this thread are unlikely to participate in trading circles, most are just starting or trying to complete their collections. Also, with the recent decision by PJ to make their boots available in lossless format, i think the general community are much more informed as to the differences.

here are some shows that I put on the old thread that aren't on the first page yet......all should still be active and some have been requested recently...

I'm off to bed, but i'll put those up on the 1st page tomorrow, along with some shows of my own, and some more artwork for the 1996 European shows (by the way, what did you think of the Cork artwork? Say what you feel, all feedback is appreciated:))

I don't know anything about bit torrents but what I have read is that you are supposed to open ports on your firewall or router to make downloads faster and allow others to take from you. I'm not a computer expert by any stretch but doesn't that create a security threat to your computer? I mean, that is why I have a router in the first place. I just don't understand the bit torrent thing?
I remember a year or so ago I downloaded a bit torrent client and tried to download a show and after about half a day it wasn't even half way downloaded. That was all it took for me to uninstall the client and forget about bit torrents.
I am not involved in trading circles and I love this thread for a number of reasons. I will be more than happy to trade shows with whomever wants to via burned CDs if they want their shows in original format. I have never turned anyone down who wanted to trade shows.

I've looked at the first page and the shows that have been uploaded so far, and there seems to be a lack of shows from the 1992 Lollapalooza tour.
do they exist? was this BEFORE PJ announced that fans could tape the shows?
I would love to get my hands on some of these shows....ESPECIALLY the Bremerton, WA Lollapalooza where i had about 60 people on my rooftop watching the shows off of Nel Nelson Rd. (Kitsap Fairgrounds).
man, was i sorry to see Lollapalooza AND Endfest leave that place.
(by the way, what did you think of the Cork artwork? Say what you feel, all feedback is appreciated:))
I'm uploading more shows tonight, so hopefully you'll have more to post on the page 1.
Dude, the fucking vinyl concept for the CDs is awesome, and i'm in awe of the cover. If people don't download the artwork, they're nuts. I need to get a new printer. Mine sucks and the CD covers I print out don't do the discs justice.
One question.......you do have a file for a disc that shows a aqua/turquoise color in its inner rim that has Pearl Jam and Cork in it, but the two files for disc one and two do not. Can they be meshed together?
A solid, intense show, that gets crazy during the second encore. Some rude members of the crowd start booing during 'Bushleaguer.' Ed's response: "I busted out the nice suit for you, yeah? Ahhhhh, yeah. You didn't like that one. I don't understand. Maybe you like him cuz he's gonna give you a tax cut. Maybe you like him because he is a real guy, that relates to you, because he is so down home." Crowd starts chanting: "USA, USA, USA!" Ed responds: "I'm with you. USA. I just think that all of us in this room should have a voice in how the USA is represented. And he didn't allow us our voice. That's all I'm saying. We love America. I am standing on a stage in front of a big crowd. I worked in a good damn drug store. I love America, right? (Some people are yelling "play some fucking rock and roll!") This is good, this is open, honest debate, and that's what it should be. If you keep this back and forth ... good things will happen. If you don't say anything, you don't know what will happen. Cause we are on a brink of forever. And if we don't participate on where this thing is going, when where we are the number one super power in the world, you want to have a part in it and make sure it is a good thing, yeah? Plus or minus, be active. This is a good thing." The band continues with a searing 'Know Your Rights' followed by 'RITFW,' during which some in the crowd are flipping the bird and throwing projectiles.) Ed repeats the "U-S-A" chant a few times, says "Thank you, good night," and slams the mic stand down. The band is obviously upset and they leave the stage. 'Smile,' 'Indifference' and 'Soldier Of Love' were on the setlist and not played.
Note: Approx. one hour before the PJ show in Buffalo, local Buffalo radio station (103.3 The Edge) interviewed Mike. Mike said that due to the reactions of fans during the tour while "Bushleaguer" was being performed (Mike cited the boos received at the Uniondale show) that the band has reached a decision and the song will no longer be played live. He said that the one thing they don't want to do is alienate their fans, and that they (the band) are as American as anyone and hopes that people won't misunderstand the meaning behind the song.
notes: Ed remarks, "There's nothing better in the whole world than a sea of people ... it's just the tide has to go out a bit ... take a step back ... give a little breath and don't fuckin' get up here and jump unless you know what you're doing. Let's just enjoy the experience." Jeff asks Stone if Scully gets "paid double" with Stone responding, "I dunno ... can we?" Ed responds, "We're not doing this for us ... it's for them." He then thanks the Chili Peppers for giving them the night off so they can "... be a real band" and introduces 'State of Love and Trust' as from the movie they are going to be in. The 'Deep' lyrics are modified to "... on the edge of an Ann Arbor town." Ed asks the crowd to pass him to the back during 'Porch.' 'Outshined' and 'Oceans' are intermingled in the jam during 'I've Got a Feeling.'
I'm off to bed, but i'll put those up on the 1st page tomorrow, along with some shows of my own, and some more artwork for the 1996 European shows (by the way, what did you think of the Cork artwork? Say what you feel, all feedback is appreciated:))
Even though it was said that some of the fans grabbing these shows might be new to trading circles, they can still find the necessary resources (or have someone lead them) to convert FLAC files. The quality is worth the time and effort to convert, which takes very little effort.

The intentions of this thread are obviously good, but I think it may hurt the community overall. If you're looking to download boots and keep things lossless, may I suggest: http://pj.sidewalkcrusaders.com/ and http://theskyiscrape.com/audvis/index.php
im not going to be reripping these shows into flac and i dont think anyone else here is either. thanks for the links.. ive been there before.
Fair enough, you don't need to. I just feel like it would be best if new MP3 shows were not added.
