"booing" in dublin last night

uh... i wasnt talking about the room in the 10club pit. i was talking about the lack of room in the rest of the hall because of the division.
stuff like that cut off might work in america where venues are all seating, and theyre sensible for festivals, but for arena's they are ridiculous and are just asking for trouble. and to ask people to spend 50 euro, then be subjected to such security measures (and paddy fucking casey) is nothing short of disgraceful.0 -
Thought all PJ fans knew it. I was booming in Dublin and even after Eddie explained it to those who didn't know Boom, a guy next to me asked why I was booing....

Jaymac wrote:Boom was fucking loving Dublin... at one stage he ducked below his keyboard and was peeking out from underneath while we were all shouting BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
I'm a pearljam fan 14 years and didn't get the "boom" thing. I said to my brother who was with me at the concert, "the fans musn't like the keyboard player". It was such a relief to learn his name. lol..
I went away from the concert thinking that pearljam will never play ireland again after being booed like they were (or as it happens - weren't!).
Anyway, what a gig, they still rock my world!

ps were there any Waterford fans there like me?everything has chains...absolutely nothing's changed..take my hand...0 -

showtime wrote:Hi Guys,
Anyone at the dublin show last night?
anyone know what all the "booing" was about? some people tell me its to do with the keyboard guy that his name is "boon" or something other people say they were booing the keyboard guy cos he was new (unlikely) others say its because Eddie or someone on stage had a flag with a union jack on it, but i didnt see it.
anyone know the real answer?
the show rocked BTW!
ugh. go away.~I'd list my shows here, but I've long since lost count~0 -

axlrose wrote:the 10club/wristbands bollocks that pearl jam adopt. its obscene and unfair. and actually far more dangerous than a non-seperated crowd - it was bedlam in the point the other night, any other time ive been there for gigs its been quite dignified and spacey but with the pit at the front the hall was condensed and squeezed into a dangerous amount of space.
their problem with the setlist i think was because of amount of new material. to be honest i didnt take them up on that argument (though it would have been nice had they not played any new material!) so i cant explore it any further.
I was told The Point pretty much always has a pit in the GA since someone died there at a gig and wristbands are given to the people at the front of the queue and so for PJ this was the Ten Club members and then additionally those at the front of the GA queue. So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

The Point ALWAYS has the front pit section. If you've been to any gigs there over the past 8 years or so you should know that. Arrive early or you dont get pit. I wasnt in Ten Club but i still got a pit pass... me and about 200 people in the queue behind me.Becoming a Star will become your Doom.0 -
Why is this thread still going? Haven't people realised by now that there was no booing for any reason?
and axlrose: ridiculous pit measures? Every single gig in the point has that pit. It's for safety. Anyone who was booing that needs there head checked. Same goes for your comment on the setlist. If you didn't like that setlist why would you even bother going in the first place?I'll Ride The Wave Where It Takes Me0 -
How do people miss this?
Ed: "BOOM GASPAR EVERYBODY"
crowd: "Booooooom booooooom..."
1/5 of the crowd: "Why's everyone booing? Pass me another beer, Frank..."
:rolleyes:Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

Byrnzie: Yeh, I know his name's boom but I still don't think it's very nice that they boo him!
