I went to the show and it was excellent. The opener wasn't a standout (WWS), but it seems to have fit well in retrospect. A very long RITFW and excellent Watchtower were standouts, as well as a rare appearance by Stone on drums for YL. Of the shows I actually went to, they rank as follows:

    Gorge 1
    SD
    Portland
    Gorge 2
Las Vegas (Although, I probably listen to this boot the most due to the excellent setlist [and best version of Inside Job all tour!]. . . go figure)

For show I didn't attend, the Grand Rapids and SF3 were both great and are recommended. I have not heard anything else, so I can't make any crazy assumptions that Gorge 1 was the best all tour, but I can state that it was a damn good show.

    Cool- thanks for the info

The crowd at Newy was unreal, not just cos I was in it. They were up for everything...

i.e starting the chant in Daughter and getting Ed onto it, Mike coming into the crowd (albeit very briefly), getting a massive set, it was mindblowing.

I think the observation from Ed 'This feels more like a party than a concert' sums it up

yep cant agree more. Newy was a speciel night.
straight of the bat the whole night went off. a smaller crowd was making a lot of noise. listen to ed on the boot he was loving it.
    as was I
thanks again the three interagators, mark and the band.

  • hey guys, I'm trying to figure out which bootleg i should get. I want something with Leash on it...I have Boston 2 but that was the first time they played it and I think they fucked up the intro a little bit.

But basically, I want something with Leash...something that sounds fucking awesome, and something where Mike can really be heard...because I've been hearing rumors about some shows where its really hard to hear him.

    With that said, any suggestions?

Arnhem is a good choice for you, great show cool version of leash. But I have to say I was there, so maybe/probably I'm not completely objective.

SFIII is a very clean mix with good Mike on it. leash is there, great red mosquito, great Crazy Mary duel with Boom.

Gorge I has been buggin me, love the show, the setlist, the energy, the vibe -- but yeah Mike is mixed too low, Stone can overpower Mike's solos at times.

And I swear Stone's solo for Porch he's playing left-handed or something, I think the heat got to Stone more than the others or something cause on Porch he's just ... out there. Oh yeah RITFW is his "virtuoso" style as well... Both songs' solos/jams are just painful for me to listen to, too much stone who's too loud and completely uninspired imho. He sounds like he just found out how fun a digital delay pedal is...

yup, thats the one i ended up downloading, great show, but i'm pretty sure Crazy Mary was not on there.

I've been having a problem with tracks cutting out tho, is anyone else having that problem?

I have downloaded two shows from this tour so far and a lot and when i burn them on cd's a lot of the tracks have been cutting out. As in, some tracks just refuse to play or they play a little and keep cutting out in the middle...does anyone know what causes this or what can be done to fix it? Does anyone know what i'm talking about at all?

My god its been six years...
    never dreamed...
    ...you'd return.
  • kudos to the band for heading the way with the officials bootlegs. fan money well spent :)

i have a flac copy of each show i saw and then some others, carefully chosen by looking at the setlist and reading reviews. as long as the vault remains open i will continue to buy shows, which i just LOVE doing...it sure makes those spaces between the tours much easier to handle.

the greatest gift is the fact that no two boots are the same

this is one hellofa great band, imho.

yeah i think the heat affected stone more than the others both nights. the guys were ready to come back out on the stage for a third enoore the second night but apparently stone had enough ..thats what someone said from that side of the stage. i was over near mike the second night, tons of energy! oh and when ed ran by me back to the stage after his last kiss deal out in the middle of the crowd i could see it on his face that he was a lil beat which was understandable, gosh it was hot out there even after the sun went down.

    Biased, but....Lisbon (2nd day).

Good crowd and a nice set list.
It was surprising (but oh so nice) for me to have them playing in a 2006 tour, just after a new album released, songs like Why Go, State of Love and Trust, I Got ID, Garden, Once, Footsteps - not so "obvious" oldies..
  • I haven't heard anything else about it, but I downloaded Athens because of the set list and absolutely love it.

Newcastle, Santa Barbara, and SFIII are also great.

First of all let me say that there are many high quality 2006 PJ boots available to music lovers. I've acquired about 60 differant shows based on reading the feedback posted from all the fans. I've only had time to listen to about a dozen of the 2006 shows so far. Of the shows I've listened to the most pleasant surprise was the Sydney Three show. Of the others I've listened to Newcastle, San Diego, Gorge One, and Zagreb were all excellant. The great thing is that even the average shows are good. Thanks to the band, and all the fans for making this great music available!
