    someone on twitter asked the Denver PD why they hadn't arrested the guy, or if they had, and they actually responded saying "no charges have been filed, victim declined to press charges". 

    it's so odd to me how in the states someone doesn't get charged if the victim says they don't want them to be. here there's no choice. you commit assault, you get charged, victim's opinion be damned.
