It all depends on what people like. This print does not appeal to me at all. I went Wrigley, have all four posters, and still don't care for it. PJ fans will dictate the value, not flippers. If nobody pays the outrageous prices, (or trade flips, in this case), the value will go down eventually.
Good luck with this trade attempt, but I seriously doubt anyone will consider it.
I think the value of the Wrigley billboard print will be hurt in the long run because there are 4 other posters for the show.
yep
Shouldn't it be the same for PJ20 billboard then? There were two separate day posters, a weekend poster, and not to mention separate posters done for the weekend that just the artists sold (ie Ames did a mookie poster too).

i think not..not to mention that pj20,is different, better poster..the wrigley poster sales,,was all so close..in a month,we had,venue-artist-10c sales all together!!so much money fans spent + alot bought concert tickets lately for fall tour..!!!

In my opinion, PJ20 was a bigger event that the Wrigley show. The PJ20 billboard was part of the PJ20 experience along with the museum and poster show. People got to watch the PJ20 mural be created while they were enjoying the Alpine and the other artists. The Wrigley billboard was in a parking lot outside the park and people watched it being made while sweating and waiting 4+ hours for merch. Everyone that I know who went to PJ20 saw the billboard but I know lots of people who were at wrigley and did not even know a mural was being made.
Plus, PJ20 had only 3 posters + the billboard over 2 days. Wrigley had 4 posters + the billboard for 1 show.
Finally, I think most people thing the PJ20 billboard is a better looking print than the Wrigley one.
I don't see how PJ20 is better at all. Ugly design and not nearly as nice of a print as the Wrigley mural. The same people that live around me are the same that bought that one for so much and Wrigley to me is equally as important to Midwest fans. Plus Wrigley and PJ fans are going crazy about this merch so far, so why would 1 more rare poster that doesn't have thousands of Show Editions floating around not increase in value?

I guess we have have differing opinions on which print is better. Overall, I don't love the PJ20 print but I does like its bright colors and the large "PJ20" on the print. The Wrigley print is smaller, with duller colors and "Wrigley Field" in small font.
To me, that is what makes art interesting - everyone sees it differently.

I agree with the last thought. . . . the fact that there are only 200 of these murals out there will drive up the value.

I don't know, I hear that PJ20 has no bootlegs becaue the sound was bad and the band felt that they were a bit off. Wrigley just rocked with new songs and rarities til 2 AM.

Wow!
This was a fun read. I kinda like staying quiet in these threads bc quite frankly, I enjoy telling the joke more so than being a part of it, but fuck it, I'm bored. I personally know the OP (that don't mean shit but hey, wtf ), and can say with confidence that he IS actually a good dude with good intentions. Stupid and stoned, but good dude. It's his "buddy" that needs to grow a fucking pair and put that bitch on eBay like a big boy and sell it so he can buy HIMSELF the fucking Kong! Your rookie ass buddy done fucked up your shit Joe! I would smack a mofo for even ASKING me to do this shit! Easily could've waited for the bar to get set, sell it, THEN put up an ISO with the cash ready! Lazy Grasshoppers... :fp:

I think there are some key points here when comparing the two billboards. PJ20 was much more a part of the experience of the show, being in a prominent location at the top of the hill. I waited in merch line on Addison on Thursday so I didn't even get over to that side of the stadium. Even when I waited the next morning on Clark, there were fences up that made the Wrigley mural harder to see. Depending on how much time you spent around the ballpark and where you entered to go to the show, you could have entirely missed seeing it.
In terms of preferences over which print is better, artwork wise or event significance wise, that's in the eye of the beholder. Also, I'm sure preference depends on which print you have in hand.

I was in Wrigleyville for a few days and didn't see the billboard once or hear about it. I can't imagine I was the only one. At PJ20 you could see that sucker sitting in the traffic trying to get in.
I also think the mural captures the essence of Chicago the best. I honestly could never part with mine and I just got an EMEK for $50 that no one somehow bid on on eBay. Didn't like the Munk until my roommate got it and it really has great color and print in person. But there are still so many of those that having the mural we know only 200 exist should be just under value of the Ames Variant.
Ps... I will trade my Dabs Myla for the Ames Variant and I'll even be nice and throw in my EMEK show AND both Wrigley stickers! PM me!
I wonder if the fact that the Dabs/Myla has two sigs that it will be more desirable? I was stoked to see the artists making this and was happy that all 3 posed for a pic for me. Shocked that more people didnt rush to get a pic when all 3 posed in front of it for me.
One person has a cool pic when HE was in the pic and mural with the artists.

Still think this one is a sleeper...
I think you're referring to me I posted the link in another thread. Me and my friend asked for a photo, and we were talking to Myla (I'm Australian and she asked me where I was from; they are from Melbourne) and she invited us straight in and she introduced us to dabs and munk one.

All the ones on ebay sold. And towards the end they went up to 290. I think people will be kicking themselves for not shelling out the cash right away. This one will be hard to find later and will only go way up in cost.
SO, he has(Supply) a poster others want(Demand), he has something he wants(demand), someone else has (supply), he is proposing a deal for the two.
So what is the big deal? Don't agree to the deal if you think it sucks. Don't get pissed he got a billboard and you did not, he owns it and can do what he pleases. Because you don't like his choice of what to do, does not make you any sort of moral authority on PJ merch. He is not flipping it, he is trading it IF someone accepts his offer. Do I like when people buy shit just to trade it and the people who really want it are SOL? No it happens to me all the time, but he scored a print, he can do what he wants. It is not an auction.
A Donkey Kong A/P goes on Avg for about $170 a run of 200. The Billboard is going for slightly more, and has the same run. This a legit offer and no one loses if you both agree to said terms.
Free Market people, this is how it works, deal with it. Does it suck if you really really wanted one, YES, but he got one and now it is his to do with as he pleases. Don't frag him for trying to acquire something he wants. With the means he has.
Lol thanks for the support dude. It's kind of sad how chilidish the people in this place have gotten. Everyone around here is a critic when they sit behind the comfort of a computer screen.
I would tell you to your face that it's a bad trade. Maybe a show print but not a A/P. Your buddy should get the poster in hand befor he makes his demands. Maybe when he sees the poster he will want to keep it. After all why else would you buy something. :corn:
