    This is fucking bullshit.

you think it's possible for pj to come back and play more AFTER U2 is done?

I didn't think so, but had to ask...

I'm sure it's different when you are THERE...

how many times have people said bad things on the internet but people in attendance said it was great!
JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?
    EV: It's your band.

the 9 may be great, but nobody who was there is real happy. That was just foreplay w/ no finish.

News: PJ To Play Full Set @ U2 Show

U2 concert starts an hour earlier

Pearl Jam will play a full set -- not an abbreviated one -- at U2's Vertigo World Tour concert Dec. 9 at Aloha Stadium. This means the concert will start a hour earlier -- at 6:30 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with opening act Rocko and the Devils (featuring U2's road crew) hitting the stage first. Open stadium-level tickets are sold out, but some reserved tickets remain at $49.50, $95 and $165. Call 486-9300 or visit http://www.ticketbastard.com.

    From the Honolulu Star-Bulliten.

  • Pearl Jam is billed as the opening act. Most of the people who bought tickets to this show bought them before Pearl Jam was even announced. I love Pearl Jam 100x more than U2, but I would have expected to them to play 10-12 songs, tops. U2's not going to cut their set short for Pearl Jam. Look late in the show for Ed and Mike to join Edge and Bono on stage and do RITFW. But, I would not have gone expecting "a full set" from Pearl Jam. It's kind of anticlimactic after their show on 12/2 (buy the boot, well worth it).

  • Well we found the setlist in a mexican forum.

    Thanks for the photo.

    :)
  • Yup - while everyone wants 3 hours of Pearl Jam to open for 3 Hours of U2 - its not gonna happen - Pearl Jam was an opening act (strange isn't it?) which means 45 mins - 1 hour at the most.

You all also have to remember this U2 was orig scheduled fr a few months back, was postponed, rescheculed for tonight, and then added Pearl Jam as the opener. Anyone who saw U2 in 2005 on the mainland knows that the people at the show in hawaii are NOT about to have a bad night because Pearl Jam opened w/ 9 songs....

and one thing i learned from 2 years of Bridge School benefits shows - short Pearl Jam sets can be awesome sets.

  • The Star-Bulletin actually reported this:

"After gates open at 5 p.m., the opening band Rocko and the Devils (headed by U2 stage manager Rocko Reedy) will hit the stage at 6:30. About a half-hour later, Pearl Jam will play an hourlong set. Then, at about 9 p.m., U2 will finish off their world tour for the year."

    Hourlong set=9 Songs

It's a U2 show, not a Pearl Jam one. Sometimes the better bands open for the lesser ones. My Stepmother saw Jimi Hendrix open for the Mamas and the Papas at the Hollywood Bowl. Go figure.
