This whole "newb" thing is confusing me. haven't seen so many people accusing others of being one before this past week or so. Anyway, it's all just supply and demand, and the lottery puts tix in the hands of more people I think. I know some seem to disagree.

By newb, I was thinking you didn't spend 5+ hours trying to get a ticket to the Vic, only to get shut out... wish I knew how to cheat, that day was hell.

I didnt intend this to come across as "bitching" as someone ignorantly ranted. I was just pointing out (and others pointed out) circumstances where this policy could be a bit too restrictive. I feel it is a valid discussion of the current system.

I also didnt intend on it turning into an f5 argument

This particular wrinkle in the lottery system seems good in practice, but still can be improved.

trust me, if someone did, I would know, and I wouldn't lie and say there wasn't... mondo, hell yeah there are bots... obey, yep, there are ways... I prefer to type fast and be persistent, a mondo bot would be cool, but I only buy about 1 in 50 of their posters!

I understand why they do it. of course the people who for whatevet reason did not enter for show 1 won't like it, but I think it's fair to give a better chance to those who wanted to go but missed out the first time.

I think they should give all the tickets to people selling them on stubhub. If I were a ticket scalper, i'd have signed up for as many new accounts as I could due to this rule... taking tix away from long time members, awesome. :fp:

Of course that is impossible though, since you can't get tickets to the SECOND show if your weren't a member at the time of the on sale of the FIRST show.

I would like everyone to have a shot at the 2nd chance lottery.
because then I would get a chance to get Portland and Seattle (1 &2?)
I got the shows I put in for- SD, LA1, LA2 ( i got 1 my sister got 2)
Now my situation has changed and I could travel to Portland and Seattle ( I'm not going to have that baby I was supposed to have in February don't feel bad- fetus got to go to Wrigley in utero.)
so I would please like to go now.

Voice of reason. Also limit lottery to one show per tour, not each leg.

Imagine 5000 people went for 2000 tickets at your local show.

So let me do the math really fast... carry the 1... that means 3000 people would be shut out including you.

Now they add a second show. Is it more fair for the 3000 "losers" to go after the new 2000 tickets

They open it up to everyone so now every scalper, every person that wants to go to as many shows as they can, every person that wants to get your show's tickets so they can trade for a different show, etc...

Now instead of going against 3000 people for those 2000 tickets, you are now going against 10,000 people.

F That!!!

I do agree that the 2nd chance lottery should be open to the "losers" of the first round and then IF there are any tickets left, those could be opened to all the 10c before going to the general public.
