Different night... Some people are busy on the first night, but can go on the second night.

I would think that the '2nd chance' option leaves a significant amount of 10c tickets unsold. So I would suggest doing the '2nd chance' lotto, followed by a 'sloppy 2nds' lotto for members who did NOT enter the 1st time. THEN the public sale.
Yes yes yes, I support this. October 16 is my birthday
Yes, that system would be better than nothing. But really, new show, new lottery. I think anyone who doesn't already have tix to the first show should be able to enter right off the bat.
I disagree with you. If this happened in NYC where I missed out on Barclays 1 and they announced Barclays 2 and reopened the lottery to EVERYONE not just the ones who missed out of Barclays 1, you'd better believe I'd be livid, especially if I missed out on the lottery again to a show in my backyard. It's 10c's attempt at making it fair and I think it was a good decision given the demand for tickets and how many people drew nothing for Leg 1. Even though it puts me at a disadvantage for my own personal agenda.

Can't think of anything in my entire agenda that I couldn't reschedule in case Pearl Jam was holding a concert in my Vicinity 4 months from now.

I personally declined an award show once with the words: "Sorry but I can't make it, I already have an important meeting scheduled with Pearl Jam in Amsterdam".

    Got my priorities right.

Because it's not worth it to travel just for one show, but I'd do it for two shows (especially since the newly announced show is MY BIRTHDAY!!). Or maybe someone couldn't make night 1 due to prior commitments but is available for night 2.

I agree with the rationale of offering up to folks who lost first time around to be fair to locals who missed out on the first show. However selfishly I wish they had opened it up to everyone because I would have loved to have tried for it.

I'm going to stop talking about my birthday at the risk of sounding self-absorbed

Ok, I see your point about the 2 show thing. I doubt many people had unbreakable plans for a Tuesday in mid-October (unless its a vacation). And it's not like they are saying 10c members excluded from the lottery aren't allowed to go to the show. There will be a public sale. Seems like people look at non-10c tix like rotten fruit, yet still complain that their 10c seats aren't close enough. This second show lottery is still a lottery and not everyone will win tickets.

And I hope you get to see your Birthday show, Suzie. :D

Thanks, me too!! I'll be begging and pleading for a spare GA tickets when they announce the lottery results. I'm trying not to get all nutty about needing to be on the rail for every single show (I had grabbed a set from TM for night 1 "just in case") however I think I need to be on the rail for the birthday show. Once in a lifetime opportunity!

I knew I wouldn't get Seattle in lottery as I was placing other cities in first but I threw in Seattle anyway just for the fact that I thought you may need to enter for Seattle 1 to have the opportunity at a second show if it pops up. The strategy may work out for me.

P.S. I think it is okay what the Ten Club is doing with the second on-sales. Just rewarding those who put in for the first show and were denied. I don't think it is about excluding folks but more of rewarding those who would have committed to the 1st show.

I was devastated that I couldn't go to Seattle 1, but I simply cannot get the day off work or leave early enough to get down there. I would fuck a bunch of people over if I called in sick at that time, and my boss isn't that stupid anyway. :( It is pretty much the only time that I absolutely couldn't take off from work. Bad ass luck. :x But I keep learning things with these lotteries. If I'm ever in the same kind of position again, I'll just put the high demand show that has a possibility for an added show as a low priority, be guaranteed the loss for the first show, and then be able to enter for a second if there is one. Hindsight is 20/20! Not that I'm all bent put of shape about it. That's how the cookie crumbles. Of course I'd still get to a second show, and I don't have a big prob with public sales. I just want to be there.... Still, it's just nice to be able to enter the lottery.

Bring back f5! I tried for 3 shows, Seattle and LA 1&2... I got Seattle and LA 1... It's a lottery, keep it random, let everyone that wants to try try... some people tried for 20 shows, some people tried for one... i'm rambling, but I got 66% of the tix I tried for, I'd have prefered to get 2 LA 10C sets or 2 Seattle 10C sets and decide if I wanted to travel to the other city.

Actually you got 100% of tickets you entered for. Once you won Seattle, then LA 1, you were removed for LA2. So you got both choices that you could ( seeing as your only allowed one night per two night stand )

I hate F5, that gives people a chance to cheat and abuse the system.

With the lottery everyone has an equal chance at each show. It's no ones fault but your own if you only put in for one show.

I have had really good luck with the lottery, and think most people have.
too many rules... bring back f5 and keep it simple.

Yeah, F5 is awesome and simple for those who know how to cheat and get every ticket they want.

  • So let me get this straight...

For whatever reason I can not go to a show on 10-15...
So I do not try for tickets..
THEN Pearl Jam announces a show for 10-16...A show that I CAN attend...
But because I didn't attempt to get 10club tickets for a show I couldn't attend...
I now cant get tickets for as show that I am able to attend?

And you need to ask my opinion of this?
    Really?
    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Its wrong.
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

  • I'm on the fence & can see it from both sides. It is what it is. I try not getting caught up in fairness because there's too many unfair things in life. At the end of the day it doesn't change anything. The new system adressed issues but not all. I try to focus on the one thing I know: PJ is still making music, traveling, & dealing with all the bullshit it takes to put out music for their fans. Fans do their part putting up with all the bullshit it takes to participate in the music. We need each other...

my take is, it is what it is. quit bitchin. you wanna go to a show get tickets. i personally think the best process they had for getting 10club tix was back when they mailed you an application and you filled it out with the shows you wanted to attend. that year, was it 2003?, i filled it out for 4 shows, everyone that was in my area. state college was the best. the last show on the first leg of the tour. i told my wife we have to go to this show, its going to be epic and it was.

Yes, it is what it is. I have accepted it, and have zero issues finding tix another way. But I still have an opinion about it. Having an opinion does not = bitching.

    Its wrong.

Let me add this to ^^

I disagree that it's wrong, partially. Hear me out.

If the lottery was this way - people who entered for the first show had first shot at the lottery, then every other member, it would be fine.

I totally agree people who wanted a Boston show and put in for one, should have first priority over someone who did not.

But if there are any remaining tickets, they should go to the fan club first before being offered to ticketmaster.

So I'm torn. I feel people who were shut out should have first dibs. But I don't think the amount of 10c tickets that were distributed for the first show, will be taken by people only by those who were shut out the first time. Those numbers can't equal up.

We shall see what happens after Monday. If the remaining tix go to ten club members, it's the correct way. (No not all tickets only the remaining 10c tix) if they don't, that's not correct.

I was shut out of Seattle 1 tickets (girlfriend was not) so I would be greatfull to enter for Seattle 2, since she will likely not be eligible for the next lottery if there is one. But that doesn't skew my opinion, it would be the same either way.

Cheat? What the HELL are you talking about? Please, elaborate on how one cheats by sitting in front of a computer for hours hitting f5 until they get something, by chance... I haven't want to call someone that word that rhymes with boob this bad in a long time.
