Hello fellow PJ fans,

Earlier this year I was at the Download festival in the UK and witnessed Metallica play Master of Puppets in it's entirty live as part of their 2hr headline set. Now I'm not the biggest Metallica fan in the world, but thought this was a really cool idea to play a whole album mid-way through a set.

Which PJ album would you like to hear played live from start to finish? Would this ever happen?

Personally, I'd like to hear No Code or Riot Act.

Yup... I'd have to say Yield! Although Ten would rock my socks too... actually, now that I've thought about it a little, any album played would be fantastic!

I think I'd go with ten - it's the best layout of any of the albums IMO and each song seems to lead perfectly into the next.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

I'd have to go with Ten aswell, although No Code would be great too.

I was thinking about this the other day actually. I also saw Metallica at Download - they were amazing.

I never heard Master of Puppets before going to see Metallica play the album in whole... twice this summer! :/

Didn't impress me much. as much as I'd love to see, a whole album being played live means that some of the show is a bit meaningless to casual fans...

I hadn't heard it all the way through before either, and I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but I thought their performance was spot on.

I know what you mean though, at a festival I think they should have stuck to their greatest hits.

Master of Puppets is their greatest hits to me.

  • I'd have to go with 10, fantastic album, really raw and angst ridden. As for Metallica, used to really like them, not a big fan anymore post load and re-load. Wish i was there to see the entire master of puppets, one of the greatest albums of all time!!!!
If Pearl Jam was a beer, they'd probably be the best beer in the world!!
  • yeah, it'd have to be Ten, no question
die on a hilltop.. eyeing the crows,
waiting for your lids to close..
but you want to watch as they peck your flesh..
Ironic that they go for the eyes first
  • Riot Act, no doubt.

  • Yield or Riot Act. Or No Code.

All of Ten would be OK too, as I like the songs live ...
  • It would of been perfect if they played "Ten" in it's entirety on Aug 23 in Dublin, since it would of been the 15th year anniv. But, PJ doesnt always follow the crowd do they?

I'd definitely say Riot Act. I see that as a concept album and think it would sound awesome if it were played live straight. Second choice would be No Code.

On another note, I have seen every song on Vs. played live (if you include the WMA tag in Daughter).
