going to a PJ show alone?

I DON'T GIVE A LOAD OF CRAP!!!

Anyways haha, yeah I'll be going to the OKC show alone. I really don't care, and honestly if any of you think that its lame to go to a concert by yourself, you need to grow up. My best friend can't afford to go with me, and my girlfriend will be away in Wisconsin for an early Thanksgiving weekend. So I've had to end up going at it alone. Honestly I'm kind of excited for it: (1) It will be nice to go on a road trip by myself and just enjoy the time by myself (2) I always love meeting new people at these shows and everyone is so nice (3) it will be overall a lot cheaper since I won't have to mooch gas/food money from anyone and feel bad about it afterwards.

Anyone else think that it's ok to go at it alone? :ugeek:

Theres no such thing as going to a PJ gig alone....you are in the 10c who are the best bunch ever :)
All you need to do is find the pub and turn up! I have met some lifelong friends from deciding to go to a PJ gig alone

Went to PJ 20 solo. It's awesome. You do what you want when you want how you want. You will meet far more people than if you're worried about what someone else might want to do. Enjoy!
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

It's all good. Great way to meet you people too, unless you just want to talk to yourself.
I have done both, gone with friends, and gone by myself. Each has its own thing to it.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...
If I knew where it was I would take you there.

I'll be going to Philly 1 by myself. Looking at a trip to either Dallas or OKC, which would also be by myself.

I'd like to take a little phrase from Liverpool and coin it for pearl jam shows...

    "You'll never rock alone." :D

Won't be the first and it won't be the last show in Philly or anywhere for that fact!
Went to Eddie Vedder, like Ed, solo...

Plus there is friends to find, new ones to meet and two nights of cool Philly fall nights of Pearl jam

Same thing happened to me in Vancouver 2011. My friend had to bail last minute. Didn't mind the extra room at all!

I've gone to shows before solo and I don't think there is anything wrong with it, especially with this band & it's fans. Going solo has its advantages which some have already been mentioned.

I have not seen Pearl Jam by myself (yet) but I have seen many concerts on my own. If I want to go, I go, and dont let the lack of company stop me . As of right now I am attending the Hartford show on my own so I will have 4+ hrs of driving and waiting in the GA without a tour buddy.

And Totally awesome. I did Outside Lands by myself and loved it. Just free to roam as you please. Also I just finished visiting all 50 of these here United States of America.

Did a weekend in Oregon alone.
    A weekend in Yellowstone alone.
And am currently on a flight (alone) after having a whirlwind tour of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and my 50th state.... Kentucky.

I actually love going to shows alone.

    Enjoy!!!

Done my last four solo, so the wife can stay home with the baby. It's not all an issue. As long as you make the smallest effort, you will meet plenty of fans who will be happy to sit and share a drink and a story.

I've done a couple PJ shows solo: Toronto 1 2011 and Vancouver 2011. This tour I'm doing Seattle alone, and if I can't convince my buddy to do Vancouver that'll also be another solo show. I've also seen many other bands without friends; it really isn't a big deal, most of the time I have a blast enjoying the music and meeting new people.

I did 8 shows in a row alone in 2003. I took greyhound buses from city to city, slept when and where I could, and totally loved it.

Being 10 years older I would never do it again. But I survived that, so you should be ok :)

Being along can be your best friend. No inhibitions, no one to judge. Just rock the fuck out and not give a damn! Always fun :)

    Have fun rocking out!

Some of the best concerts I've been to I've been on my own, intentionally or unintentionally. Sometimes you just need to hear the music that moves you most.

I've gone to several shows alone. It happens when your friends all get married and have kids and can't or don't want to travel for a concert. Flew out to Europe 2012 by myself for 17 days and not knowing a soul over there. Was the best trip of my life and made some great friends.

If you are the type of person that wants to be in a group then you'll find friends at the pre-parties. If you are the introvert type then you are set because you won't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to.

I do a lot of my pearl jam shows alone. I prefer it that way. Then I can do as other day and rock the fuck out without worrying about shit. I've also purposely not taken my girlfriends to shows with me. Always having to worry and fuss over someone takes away from my experience. I haven't done a road trip to a show alone. That would be cool. I'm envious my friend. Enjoy!! Btw... Doing LA2 alone

I think it's great to go alone, because you don't have to deal with anybody's crap. My sister, who's my PJ concert buddy, gets on my nerves sometimes at the shows. She either runs her mouth when I try to get into a song, or wants to bail because her feet hurt from standing in GA, or wants to move back because people are pushing her. There's always something with her. :fp: I think I'm ready to ditch her and start going solo. :D

Almost all the hardcore fans I know personally have been to shows alone. I sure have! MSG2 2008, Copenhagen 2012. I went to Costa Rica 2011 "alone" but before the show started I'd made 6 friends all of whom I've since seen shows with and 3 of whom have stayed at my apartment!

It really is a community. You won't feel alone.

I went to EV show alone and had a blast. Met new friends and didn't have to accommodate anyone's agenda but my own. Plus, you'll be with Jamily so you won't be alone anyway.
It's nice to be nice to the nice.

I was driving my family to Disney world from Cleveland. I stopped overnight in Jacksonville to see Eddie solo. I walked to the theater by myself and went to the show. I think only people that thought I was weird was my wife and kids. Anyway good time and who goes to concerts to socialize anyhow...right
