Ummm, people in Seattle pay? I recall a certain pair of shows in 09 that Eddie didn't sound too happy about doing.
I'm pretty sure Mike and Jeff are chasing Eddie on a second Seattle show and based upon the comments and energy towards the Seattle crowds from Mr Vedder I don't foresee this second show everyone is bitching about happening.
I don't think anyone is bitching. Just hoping.
It's been so long since they played in Seattle, EV doesn't even KNOW what the crowd will be like, really.
The other thing is that since the show right now is on a Friday night and is the last show of the tour, it's almost like a destination type show. My guess is that a lot of people from out of town are planning on coming to Seattle because of those facts (plus it didn't hurt about the rumored Dec 7 show when tix went onsale). Therefore, I don't see this being the 2009 crowd, nor the Seattle 1 2000 type crowd either.
What was the seattle 2009 crowd like? I always assumed seattle would be their fav show cuz of hometown crowds that I imagined would rock so hard. Are they like obnoxious to eddie or something?

Quite the opposite. Seattle doesn't get very loud at all. We're too cool :geek:
Hometown audiences can be rather spoiled, plus they're bigger elsewhere than they are in Seattle IMHO. Mellower indie music, dance rock and Macklemore are the preferred music selections of the 15-30 crowd nowadays.
Traveling to Vancouver then to Seattle for the shows from Ohio.
Please, please, please don't shut out the people that already got tics to night 1 if there is a night 2. If so, then someone please, please, please hook me up with 2 tics for night 2 if it's Sat the 7th.
Plus, I will scream my lungs out till it fills this room. We tourists will help it rock, if the locals won't.
Please, please, please Mr. Eddie Vedder forget about the past and let it happen. :corn:

Now we are missing the biggest point here.
Seattle 2009 were 9-21 and 9-22. Backspacer was released 9-20.
The reason the crowds sucked was because night one they played 8 songs from backspacer and night two they played 7 songs from backspacer.
Night one suffered very much from this. The crowd didn't know the songs, and were not into that many new songs. They tried to fix it somewhat night two, but still suffered the same fate.
I worry that the first 4 shows will suffer the same fate this tour...
So don't blame it all on the Seattle crowd. I saw foo fighters at key arena in 2008 and Sasquatch festival at the gorge in 2009. The crowds were not bad. Not like NY, but not terrible.
Again it's partially the bands fault for the bad crowds in 2009. Seeing as its the end of the tour this time I believe it will be much better this time around.

Why do you care? Are you trolling on purpose? You made your point you hope fans in and traveling to Seattle don't get a 2nd show.

I've soon both good and lathargic crowds in Seattle:

Seattle I and II 2002 @ Key Arena
I've always felt the band has to try a little harder when they play Seattle, but they don't always get that. I don't think Seattle is full of Seattle fans. It's like a concert full of die hard PJ fans from all over the place. It takes a little more to impress than your usual show. They're a kickass band we know they can bring it.
You don't need a setlist of rarities either. They owned that show in 2000 by playing for 3 hours which pushed the concert to ending around 1:30am (which they haven't done at key arena since). If you look at the setlist.. it doesn't jump at you, but they kept play and kept rocking out... they tried very hard.
The Seattle '09 shows barely seemed to go past two hours. They setlists had lots of backspacer songs. They didn't throw in too many rare songs for the die hards. The repeated a chunk of the encore (just breath, the end, and real me). We've seen epic shows in Seattle and we've read about the ones in the East. Seattle II '09 seemed to end just as the crowd felt warmed up.
I hope we get a 2nd show. I guess it's a shame the '09 shows weren't standouts. I would think the band would see it as challenge rather than a reason to play their hometown less.
My buddy spoke with Mike at the Shadow performance the other night. When he casually asked Mike about them adding a 2nd Seattle show, Mike said that they were not going to do that. No reason was given. My buddy did not want to press Mike on it, since it was his Shadow night. The more time passes, the less likely a 2nd show seems.
I will not lose my Faith, it's an Inside job today....

Hmmm, I thought he told another person "Jeff & I are working on it" that same night?

I did not read the previous posts before I posted. So, yes, now it seems 2 people may have heard 2 different things. My buddy got shut out of Night 1 tickets, so he was looking forward to casually asking Mike about the Seattle show.
I certainly hope the first post was correct and maybe he was messing with my friend. :fp:

I'm planning my travels so I'll be in Seattle for two shows...
Always a good plan!
I would never travel for a PJ show without padding the trip with a day before and a day after, because you just never know what might come up!

My motto as well
I always always fly the day before a show. I'll be dammed I'm stuck in an airport while a show I have tickets for is happening.
That's my rule. Always arrive one day early if possible.

I do too. Adding events & places to see in Seattle in my traveling book. My Saturday & Sunday nights are still wide open. It would be so sweet for a PJ show on any of those nights, wouldn't you say?
We are traveling from Detroit area. A second show would be cool, but if not we are going to use that ticket money to rent a car and see Mt. Rainier.. and when I look at photos of that area, I am kind of hoping no second show is added
PJ gives us a great chance to see this beautiful country as well

I will be at Seattle 1 in GA. Would love a Seattle 2 show since I will be in Seattle. I will cheer for EVERY song.
The band could sing the phone book, and I'd still be happy.
I am coming from the East Coast. Either way, I will be having a good time. I am just grateful to be attending the Seattle 1 show!
