    2. Last time they announced two shows in Seattle in 2009, I don't think either of them sold out. Maybe Seattle 1 sold out but from what I could remember there were still upper deck seats available months later at least for the second show. For whatever reason the band front loaded all of the crowd pleasing songs into Seattle 1, so Seattle 2 had mostly deep cuts, good setlist, but not many "mainstream" songs and probably the shortest Porch solo I've ever heard. This could explain a lack of passion in the crowd for that show. This could explain why they would prefer to just have 1 sell out and play a completely kick ass show, kind of like they did in Vancouver 2 years ago.

I thought the '09 shows were pretty much sellouts by the time the concert actually happened. I don't recall there being many empty seats. One thing I'll add to your comments on the shows themselves. The encores seemed very similar on both nights. That's kind of the point where you launch the concert to stratosphere and night 2 started so good, then the encore was rather meh. For seattle shows I think you have a very seasoned audience. I think PJ has to try a little harder. You read about some of the wicked shows/setlists/ideas the PJ does on the east coast and you want them to try that hard in Seattle. Gorge '05 is still the best Seattle area show I've ever seen (best show i've seen period) and they really tried at that one. Acoustic opening set and a really interesting setlist front to back.

I'm a bit interested to see how GA livens up the atmosphere. I saw 3 shows in 09. Calgary & Seattle I and II. Calgary was a GA festival without 10c tickets. The energy was off the charts. I felt like I'd gone back in time 15 years. The Calgary show was drastically better than the two Seattle shows.

I'm still hoping for a 2nd show though.. the 2nd one's always seem better than night #1.

I have a bootleg DVD of the Calgary show and yes its crazy. At one point Eddie stops because they are passing the big metal gratings out of the way in the crowd by crowd surfing them over their heads... crazy shit! The whole place did resemble an early 90s show, just a big open field with tons of people jamming and bouncing :D

The pit was going off that show! One of the reasons that DVD is cool.

And those saying Seattle wasn't a sellout, this is from night two 2009 and on the back of the pj 20 book.. looks pretty packed to me and this is at the end of yellow ledbetter!

I'm going to dork out here and post this...

That picture isn't from the 2009 shows. By then, the Sonics banners had been taken down from the rafters in the Key. I don't think it's from the 2002 shows either, Mike's hair was dyed red. It must be from one of the shows in 2000.

Yeah after pointing that out, i guess you are correct.

They did tweet or instagram or post that picture on this website shortly after that show, which is why i always thought it was from 2009.

Still a great pic and why its used on the back of the book.

Just looked at DCU Center TM Interactive map for Worcester. A good number of seat left in the uppers, back side stage etc....

Surly Key arena night two could sell equally as well? Likely better given a Saturday show would be the last of the tour leg.

Would PJ management be disappointed with how Worcester #2 has sold? Effect on our pipe dream?

    keep dreaming faithful. :D
