Just wanted to throw this out there to the league at large, as I will be pitching this to the Gossard Conference in our prize email...

In addition to the pledged prizes for each winner, would anyone be interested in making a small holiday donation to a charity as well (I'm thinking Team Gleason)?

We all had so much fun doing this for the tour and everyone seemed especially committed and interested in it, that I thought this is a great opportunity to spread the good will.

What I was thinking is this: each person pays his or her prize to the winner of their conference, and also makes a $5-15 donation to the designated charity. I'd be happy to be the organizer, and once all the funds are collected, we can make a donation to Team Gleason (or any other charity) in the name of the league (something like "Ten Club Tour Fantasy League 2013").

Obviously, it's voluntary, but hopefully people are willing. Maybe next tour it can be part of the buy-in.

Because we have 50 participants, even $5 a head goes a long way. I intend to make a donation in addition to paying out my prize to the Gossard Conference winner, hopefully others will join me. This is a great opportunity to do some good after our fun.

    What does everyone think?

    Okay.
Just blasted out the members of the Cameron Conference via PM with instructions. Eeriepadave expect some PMs...

I will attempt to do another conference either this afternoon/tomorrow morning (Gossard).

I see Ament Conference has been making arrangements via email. I will catch up with that.
  • I know my score is incorrect grievance was played in Charlottesville. Can we rework the numbers for the Vedder conference?

Hey Nixon, Sorry for the error! I mispelled 'Grievance', so it wasn't pulling the score over.

:mrgreen: Hell yeah I just realized that is happening, so this can happen.

Mayday, do you think we should start a new thread?
Are you in to run it again? Maybe you oversee the league and have 1 person from every conference get all the information from all individuals?

I'm down to make the scoresheet again.
Just need to confirm # teams per conference, # songs per team, and if total # of songs on tour is a good tiebreaker

yeah, it would be a new thread. We can figure out the "physics" here before hand...

What, do we have 11 shows now? Plus probably a few more to be announced?

I guess you would either extend the rosters, or increase the number of participants in each conference? Cut a little deeper in the catalog? (In this case "deeper" actually means the common songs).

Or do we lay off the gas and go with less songs...?

    Mathematically breaking it down...

    US 2013: 25 shows, 12 teams, 10 songs per team. = 12 * 10 = 120 / 25 = 4.8

    EU 2014: 11 shows (12?), 6 teams, 20 songs ? = 6 * 20 = 120 / 12 = 10
    EU 2014: 11 shows (12?), 24 teams, 5 songs ? = 24 * 5 = 120 / 12 = 10
    EU 2014: 11 shows (12?), 6 teams, 10 songs ? = 6 * 10 = 60 / 12 = 5

But if they add a US Leg, will we add it in here? Or start a new league?

    Other thoughts:

Do we want to seperate 'veterans' and 'new comers' for the next tour?

Do we want to assign conferences based on how we finished the previous tour? So top 12 (who want to do this again) overall sorted by points of the previous tour would be a conference, next 12, etc?

Do we want to allow people to request a certain conference? Or request a specific opponent? Or request not to be in a specific conference/vs a specific person?

I agree that if there is another NORTH AMERICAN tour ;) that should be rolled up with the European one.

I don't think people should be segregated though, or be able to pick their friends for conferences. I think it should just be first come first serve, add conferences as required...

I'm cool with waiting a bit to see if more dates are announced and/or north American dates not too far from the euro tour. The more shows the greater the build up... we also know the formula for 25 shows is pretty dead on.

Just brainstorm for now I guess and really get moving no later than the end of february.

FYI I still need to get cracking on prizes for some conferences. This was an abnormally brutal week at work and my fuck off time was greatly reduced

The Vedder conference has taken care of the prize thing already FYI - we've been doing it by email. :)

    Yes. Saw that!

Anyways. Maybe we can get crafty with the conferences. Have a euro conference or 2 since perhaps they will be more interested.
