Is it overall winner gets everything or each conference winner gets prizes from their own conference?
  • I believe, as the overall winner...I get the first born child of every person in every conference. Since this does seem like a hefty price to pay in retrospect, I will accept pets (birds don't count), bicycles, autographed Haruki Murakami novels, palm tree leaves, and Robinson Cano.

Are the conferences against each other? Obviously the conferences allow people to choose the same song, but will there be 2 winners (1 from each conference) that will get the 11 prizes from their own conference, or 1 winner that will get all 23 prizes?

What I was thinking is each Conference is independant w/ the prizes, so it would be 11 for each winner. Top points overall gets bragging rights. Then the winner of each Conference faces off and tries to guess the most accurate setlist for the 2nd Seattle show which may or may not get announced.

Ok some of this is doable. If I give you say both my kids does that mean that you assume 2 college tuition payments ,apt rent and the little money suckers food and car expenses. If so I may even throw in a show poster or 2.As for Palm fronds(not leaves,c'mon your better then that)I will walk out into the brisk 81 degree frigid Florida December weather and cut one for you fresh from a coconut palm by my pool.So sure kids, dogs and landscaping debris is enroute just forward address.lol

It is every Conference winner takes prizes for each respective conference. I did pledge a mystery poster to the overall winner, who with 240 of a possible 260 points, was won by Yetanotherfiasco.

I will do some work on Monday and get addresses and inform each participant of who they need to make good with.

I didnt imagine that this could have gone any better.
The way I won was down to the wire and pretty miraculous, especially when you consider Of The Earth was promised during the previous show. Both Of The Earth and Hold On were on the setlist and not played. Either one would have beaten me. Then they played Pilate and Crown of Thorns which lost Sparky Fry 2 points that gave me the lead... not to mention none of my songs were played.

That was fun. Just a few tweaks for next time. Maybe calibrated differently for a different tour length than 25 shows (12 teams, 10 songs was very good for 25 shows IMO). Tie breaker would be guess total songs played or total unique songs played.

Thank you everyone for giving this crazy idea (that I had second thoughts about and was half-embarrassed to bring up) a chance. Also thanks to everyone who contributed various ideas along the way that shaped the whole thing and made it possible for 60 people to draft a total of 600 Pearl Jam songs. Special thanks to FrankieG for really providing the engine that made this possible and much more enjoyable for everyone, and also doing the majority of the data entry, which included staying up last night on east coast time so he could update live.
    Lastly, congrats to the winners.
  • Thanks Mayday and thanks FrankieG for all of that data entry. The spreadsheet worked great and was really fun to follow.

    Oooooh, mystery poster!

Crazy ending, down to the very last show, and being decided based on Ed's decision to scratch songs is not something I would have guessed!

10 songs/12 teams/25 shows did work very well. I would not be opposed to setting something up for Australia, even though it's so short. Maybe even without prizes and just for shits-n-giggles? Don't know what to expect with the festival sets though..

 I enjoyed running the scoresheet, and would do it again for future tours if you want to have me back

    Congrats to winners!
Okay, so now what? Are the winners of my two conferences going to let me know what they want for their prize? For Cameron Conference I had an option of 3 or 4 different things. And a choice of bootleg from the shop for the Vedder conference...
