Yeah, definitely better to stay (and party) across the river in Windsor.

    That's what I'm doing - booked a room at Caesar's for $103

For those dissing Detroit and don't know what to do before or after the show, just take your asses to Greektown, you'll be fine and have a ball. Also, if you Americans want to go over to Windsor, you MUST have a PASSPORT!

What else aside from Greektown is there to see/do that's worthwhile for someone arriving ~12pm?

Personally, I'm hoping the Robocop statue is up by then. Need a picture with that.

Kind of blows baseball will be over (regular season). I like hitting ballparks during my trips. Hopefully the Red Wings will have a game the day after the show. No passport for me, so I'll be hitting up a sports bar to kill my time.

if you out-of-towners are going to take up all of the tickets,
the least you could do is stay in detroit :O)

Also, if you Americans want to go over to Windsor, you MUST have a PASSPORT!

You don't technically need a passport. An enhanced ID or a Nexus pass will work as well. But if you have one of those you probably go to Canada or Mexico way too much and already know this.

Amazingly this will be my first PJ concert and my first time trying to get tix through here as i just joined last year. But how did Detroit's % get so low so quick? At one point yesterday every single other option was 98% or higher except Detroit GA which was in the 40's. I'm guessing they aren't putting that many people on the floor of the Joe?

And don't be afraid to stay in Detroit. There are some decent areas and the city if full of museums, casinos, good food etc. And it's not like Windsor is Toronto, trust me.

Tigers will still be in the playoffs at that point; we're World Series bound this year. Comerica is a great park

I was looking at booking there too or the Crown Plaza. Anybody have a recommendation? Can you walk through Cobo from the Crowne Plaza to get to the arena?

I love how misrepresented the Detroit area as a whole is in the media. Sure, there are bad parts....like all cities.

There are some great things to see and do here. It makes me laugh that people would high tail it to Windsor. No offense Windsor, but you haven't been a destination city since I was 20 and could drink underage (for americans) at bars there. Give the local economy in Detroit a boost and hang out here.

No problem. I'll be going for sure, PM me and I'll send you my cell phone number. Drinks for sure! I'll probably take the day off of work and head up there for the pre-party. I think it's about a 3 hour drive from Ft Wayne.

I would suggest taking a visit to the Motown Museum! Then grab some food at Slow's Barbecue (Great pulled pork and beer selction), Green Dot Stables (Very affordable, menu consists of 20-30 different types of sliders), or grab a Coney Dog from Lafayette Coney Island or American Coney Island (They have a rivalry similar to that of Pat's and Geno's in Philly)

What do you mean no Tigers traffic? The World Series tentatively starts on October 22, so we could very likely have a home game 6 days earlier.

I am just trying to be positive about our Tiger's. In fact, I'm counting on a day/night downtown double-header. 1:00 Tiger's/8:00 Pearl Jam. Possibly start the day playing blackjack at Greektown, hit Red Smoke after the game and eat some BBQ that is on-par with Slow's, then hop on the people-mover and head to the Joe for what is going to be the best show on this tour. That sounds like a fantastic day to me
