Choosing Lottery Priority... ARGH!
Trying to figure out the best way to do this.... need advice...
The way it looks I have to use up 4 choices to get one pair of tickets to Brooklyn (for example) because GA counts as 1, Reserved as 2 and night 2 are choices 3 and 4... You can only get one night of Brooklyn, Philly , LA but you have to use up 4 choices...that basically screws me for a high choice for any other city... how does this work and what am I doing wrong?

Yes indeed this will be a very hard decision for all. I am actually considering not putting any points into Brooklyn or Philly just because of the competition and going for Hartford, Buffalo, Pitt, and Baltimore...May have a chance? I feel like once you get to your 3rd and 4th choice your just hoping for a miracle.2006-06-01 E. Rutherford 1

You are preaching to the choir! Many have known the lottery will suck, most have figured it out by now. Only a select few are too stubborn to admit they were wrong about the lottery.0 -
i understand, but more different fans will get 10c tix..more different..
its great..
and now with GA..more easy to find spares..cos no one will ask you,,whats your number??and see if will be close so he buys it or not.."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

So they go through Choice 1 for a particular city and fill those based on seniority (according to the email).... then they go to Choice 2, Choice 3, etc.
More Reserved than GA so Reserved is a safer bet but GA is more desireable because it is closer.... ugh.
I have to redo my whole list.0 -
its time to realise the truth here...PearlJamPatriot wrote:Exactly. Thats why this system sucks.. If you want to ensure you will get tickets for at least one show, you screw yourself for the rest.
if wasnt the lottery and was previous system, and instead of priority of lottery they tell you..:
you can only buy one pair per tour only .wouldnt be the same???
you got only one chance for one pair if you could score with f-5 and the site crash.....so its actually the same
dont confuse the lottery with priority
they could say 1 pair for tour only and you would be screw as you say even with other selling system than lottery..
the band deside..more tix to more different fans ,GA shows for more fan club tixc and GA shows for more energy..
only the ones dont want to see it ...cant see it.."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

My understanding is that nothing during the lottery process is based on seniority. Only the Reserved Seating location is based on seniority IF you win seats through the lottery.davidos wrote:So they go through Choice 1 for a particular city and fill those based on seniority (according to the email).... then they go to Choice 2, Choice 3, etc.

My question is how about if you want either kind of seats to Show A OR Show B???
I dont see a way to say I either want tickets to Worchester OR Hartford... If I enter Priority 1-4 (for Reserved Seats or 10c GA Pit) to both shows I have a chance (albeit slim) to win BOTH shows which I do not want.. I want Show A ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR B
I guess that is a limitation of the system.0 -

I can really only go to maybe Pittsburg and Buffalo. I'm thinking hard choice for #1 selection.
Do you guys think the tickets for the 1st show of the leg are going to b extremely hard to get because everyone will want to go to the first show?
I think Buffalo is going to be really hard because of us people here in Southern Ontario wanting to go. So leaning to maybe making this the #1 choice?
What do you guys think between the 2 sites?2005 - London
2009 - Toronto
2010 - Buffalo
2011 - Toronto 1&2
2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
2014 - Cincinnati, St. Louis, Detroit
2016 - Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Ottawa, Toronto 1
2018 - Fenway 1&2
2022 - Hamilton, Toronto
2023 - Chicago 1&2
2024 - Las Vegas 1&20 -
Are the choice priorities that cut and dry? I was under the impression the priority would affect the chance you would be drawn for a show, not completely block you out if everyone else who enters has a higher priority.
Say for example I have:
1st choice: GA for Worcester
2nd choice: GA for Hartford
3rd choice: Reserved for Worcester
4th choice: Reserved for Hartford
Does my 2nd choice for GA in Hartford even give me a chance to win if everyone else puts it as their 1st choice?St. Louis, USA 10-05-2004 | Chicago, USA 08-23-2009 | Indianapolis, USA 05-07-2010 | Hartford, USA 10-25-2013 | Lexington, USA 04-26-2016 | Chicago, USA 08-20-2016 | Chicago, USA 08-22-2016 | Chicago, USA 08-18-2018 | Chicago, USA 08-20-20180 -

Yes.. Winning the lottery is not based on seniority at all. Seniority only comes into play on determining where your RESERVED SEATS are located in the venue. They take priority into consideration because EVERY ONE applying for tickets has to set a priority in their order page.
I was replying to your quote of "So they go through Choice 1 for a particular city and fill those based on seniority (according to the email)" They do not go through Choices and fill them in based on seniority.. It's completely random when they "fill in your choices".0 -

Sorry dude, you're my friend so I don't like to argue with you but this makes absolutely no sense. You're justifying this mess based on an arbirtary constraint you made up about the old system that never actually existed.0 -

It says if any tickets are left over you'd have the possibility of getting tickets.. I highly doubt any will be left over as everyone who puts GA for Hartford as their "#1" will make it a sellout. The only chance you have is if the system assigns tickets all at once for the lottery...which I don't think it does.
How about if the system looks at your 1st choice and you do not win it....is there basically no chance that your 2nd-4th choice has a chance of winning since all those seats would be assigned by the time it looks at your 2nd-4th choice????
Who knows!?!?0 -

this is actually happening now with this priority and the selling system they found out for not have issues with servers and be fair to all, called lottery..thasts all happening here..
in simple words, you can score more than once only if left overs from 1st priority ticket are available from draw left and insted u try with f-5 they shich it and do a draw for the tix..so simple"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

The BIG difference is, when you were allowed ONLY 1 pair, you were guaranteed tickets by seniority. Now you have to RANK your preference and could still get shut out. For example, If I rank Wocester GA #1 and Wocester Reserved Seated #2....I could end up with NOTHING. Where if someone else ranks Wocester Reserved #1 they could end up with seating while I do not. Whereas before at least you didn't have to use god damn STRATEGY to maximize your odds. Your chances were your chances. You only had to pick the show. Now it has become a game.0 -
I read on one of the pages that they allocate by preference.
IE the draw for everyone that ranked it #1, and then everyone who ranked it #2. It looks like this would prevent people from getting GA more than once. (which was probably the point).
It's a good bet most of the GA pits will up with #1's. Which means there will be none (or close to it) left from #2's or 3's.
So basically if you choose GA more than once, that's a bad idea. Make #1 choice Ga, then seated after that?0 -
But it also says " Reserved seated tickets are assigned to members based on seniority in the Ten Club"
AFTER the lottery - that makes more sense; it would be very difficult to randomly pick for shows AND seniority.davidos wrote:ShouldHaveBeenSomething wrote:

I chose Wrigley GA #1 and London Reserved #2 and got nothing. Even though there are more shows now, I am not expecting different results.0
