    What is with the queue thing with the open buffet? Why do I have to wait until the one before me gets his plate filled? I love to roam freely in an open buffet.

    In a hotel, when you fill your plate from the buffet and take a seat at a table, the French people will not go and sit to another empty table. They will come and sit with you, on the same table. They take it as an unkindness to you if they go and sit at an empty table. That's their culture and upbringing, I guess.
