Yeah, we came here "illegally" but the past has passed and we are living in the present. We conquered the land, its ours. 8-)

I pretty much agree with ya, but as a history major in school (who has studied and will continue to study native americans) we pretty much screwed them over. It wasn't because they just wanted the cool things we gave them, we murdered them and took their land(unintentionally sometimes, like with disease) and in some cases we got them drunk so they handed stuff over easily. And we also became allies with them and we obeyed their trust (Plymouth Colony and the Wampanoags).

If I had it my way, I'd give the native americans a lot more land than what they got right now.

    Just sayin

First of all, sorry godfather, Alaska was ripped off too- the Inuit had a long-standing truly sustainable relationship with the land and sea there. No more.

As far as Indians go- yeah, we owe them big-time. Things are a bit better on some reservations but for the most part they are still some of the worst places in America in terms of poverty, health, crime etc. We totally screwed their culture and decimated their population. It will never be the same. Obviously very few if any of us will give them our property- few of us can afford to do that and making oneself homeless helps no one. As a country though- yeah, we could do much much more. Americans either hate the Indians and Mexicans, do their utmost to ignore the problems, or act like wanna-be Indians which, if you read Sherman Alexie, Vine Deloria, Ward Churchill, Adrian C. Louis, Richard Rodriguez etc, you'll understand how ridiculous that is as well.

    Nice to know.

So these Mexicans, they pay no taxes at all?? I find that impossible to believe sorry. And how do you know it's mostly Spanish speaking people that flee to your utopia, I'd like to see an actual breakdown of those figures if you care to back it up.

Seems very ironic that we are talking about native Americans in an immigration thread, without there being some sort of punch line

Actually even if they aren't paying income taxes, they are still paying sales tax, not to mention property taxes are being paid on the places they are living. In places like the US and Canada, it is next to impossible to pay no taxes. I actually read an article recently about how even illegal immigrants in the US are a boost to the economy.

this should settle all debate, check this out Bro.

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... skull.html

But recent research, including the Baja California study, indicates that the initial settlement of the continent was instead driven by Southeast Asians who occupied Australia 60,000 years ago and then expanded into the Americas about 13,500 years ago, prior to Mongoloid people arriving from northeast Asia.

The skulls from Baja California, which may date back only a few hundred years, have slender-looking faces that are different from the broad-cheeked craniums of modern Amerindians, the descendants of the Mongoloid people.

sooooo I put my money on a military action/win.

Those of you that want to twist this into a racist, bigotry problem why is it you people refuse to understand the facts? NO ONE is against immigration....one more time...NO ONE is against immigration!

Why do you have problems with the law and encourage people to break the laws?

People are against ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.....ILLEGAL....NOT Immigration.. :fp:

A fossilized, cigar-shaped creature that lived about 520 million years ago has been unearthed in Morocco.

The newfound species, Helicocystis moroccoensis, has "characteristics that place it as the most primitive echinoderm that has fivefold symmetry," said study co-author Andrew Smith, a paleontologist at the Natural History Museum in London, referring to the group of animals that includes starfish and sea urchins. Modern echinoderms typically have five-point symmetry, such as the five arms of the starfish or the sand dollar's distinctive pattern.

With respect, I do not call you a bigot because you disagree with me, I call you a Bigot because of the views you espouse. It's that simple really, I disagree with people all the time. You have a hate of a group because of their stated religion, it's not rocket science Godfather.

And yeah I played the racist card because to be fair, ignorance is infectious and rarely limited to one subject, and as you and others have demonstrated time and time again by some very questionable posts, this statement holds some water.

So not my concern that you agree with my sentiment or not, just calling it as I see it.

    Wow really??

Ok well your stated aim that all Muslims should be removed from the US is a case in point. Even those born in the states and have lived there for generations, lol, your insistence that these people are some how less American than you is laughable.

Where both parents who were born in the states and have children and all of whom are Muslim, how far back the family tree should we go with respect to which country they be deported to? If their great grand parents were Algerian and Irish, do you flip a coin??

I suspect there are Muslims who have lived in America longer than you and yet you insist they are less American than you, this is what makes you a bigot.

But you know this, you have stated it many times. If you continue to be wilfully ignorant of your previous statements I can provide direct quotes to your bile, give me time though as in using my phone here and will do so when I get access to my laptop.

I understand I have been persistent on this issue lately, but it's because I feel you have been given a pass by people on these boards, and if others had said the things you did they would have been called on it, so I'm highlighting the complete hypocrisy of some on here. Bigotry should not be condoned at all, no matter who it is saying it,

maybe you should go back and re-read my posts,I still stand by my statement not letting any muslims into the US and ANY that are suspected of trerrorism no matter long they have been here sent away to their country of orign or jail...and that is why you call me a bigot ? so be it I'm fine with that. you make it sound like a bad thing.

and given a pass ? to be on a message board I paid to be on ? if my views and opinions are different than your does that make you right ? if my ideas and thoughts on things piss you off ...oh well ! but really I think you need someone to vent your anger at and sense I'm not your stereo typical PJ fan and not a follower you have found a target  glad I could help

I apologize, I made a major generalization. But there are those who come here and live with family and/or friends and then go to work. So basically living here for free.

And I know people from various countries come here illegally, but i was referring to the countries south of the USA. Many places I go in town have employees who speak only spanish, and i have family who work with employees who speak little to no english (not saying they are illegal, but the fact that they dont learn English annoys me).

So my point is that i just wish people will come here legally, learn our language, and respect our laws. I understand some people get desperate and come here illegally, but why not make an effort to do it legally when possible. If you havent caught on yet, its a difficult topic for me. I understand why they do it, but it still annoys me. So yeah...

But you said that even Muslims who did not commit terrorism should be sent away. I do not recall you saying specific ones who committed terrorism. I recall you saying Muslims in general.

I admit, I could be wrong. But I do not recall you being specific like you just said.

Interesting, so if a Muslim who is an American citizen is "suspected" of being a terrorist then he/she should be sent to prison?

What about innocent until proven guilty? Doesn't your constitution inshrine such principles? And here I thought you were a massive advocate of defending the constitution at all costs. I mean all the bleeding on about the 2nd amendment had me believing that this document was the be all and end all,
